JA-Rocky Mountain is part of a worldwide organization dedicated to helping young people develop the knowledge and skills they’ll need to own their economic success. In partnership with schools, businesses, foundations, community organizations, and individuals, this regional operation serves young people throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
Position Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Events, this position is a key member of JA-Rocky Mountain’s fundraising team, organizing and supporting fundraising events across. The Events Manager will also perform duties that support the development team, and the greater organization, that leverage event coordination skills. The Events Manager serves as an enthusiastic and articulate representative of JA-Rocky Mountain, attends all special events, and works to steward relationships with donors, sponsors, corporate partners, and volunteers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees various aspects of events, which includes logistics, vendor contracts and relationships, tracking sales and expenses, the registration process and invoicing
• Responsible for soliciting, packaging, and promoting silent auction items
• Collaborates with the Senior Manager of Events, and the development team, to develop new sponsorship opportunities to generate additional revenue
• Contributes to the regional events strategy by planning, executing, and evaluating events
• Conducts research to identify companies, foundations, and/or individuals who may be interested in attending or sponsoring an event
• Partners with the Senior Manager of Events to update or provide new information about individuals who may become Colorado Business Hall of Fame laureates as part of the selection process
• Collaborates with the Communications team to create event collateral and promote events through various outlets
• Manages logistics for non-revenue generating events such as open house and staff gatherings
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Possess an authentic passion for JA’s mission
• A minimum of three years related work experience, at least one of which was in event management
• Event management skills including planning, organizing, staffing, and evaluating
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage and prioritize many tasks and high volume of communications efficiently
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, sales platforms, databases, and marketing software (such as Canva)
• Requires occasional regional travel throughout Colorado
• Requires longer workdays leading up to events and 12-hour days at events
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in nonprofit fundraising, successfully executing mid- to large-level events.
• Experience with peer-to-peer fundraisers

Benefits
• This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $58,000 to $64,000
• After initial training period, this position is hybrid with the option to work two days from home
