General Purpose:

The Events Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of the firm's full events portfolio, including client programs, sponsorship events, conferences, webinars, CLE seminars and internal firm functions. This role ensures all events are executed seamlessly, align with the firm's brand and business development goals, and deliver meaningful client and community engagement opportunities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Event Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and manage an annual calendar of client-facing and internal events that support business development goals and enhance the firm's brand presence
  • Partner with attorneys and practice/industry group leaders to design event concepts that align with client engagement and growth strategies
  • Evaluate sponsorships and event opportunities to ensure alignment with firm priorities and maximize return on investment
  • Coordinate accredited CLE programs, including speaker logistics, materials, and submission of accreditation applications and attendance records

Event Execution

  • Manage all logistics for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including venue selection, catering, vendor management, AV/technology coordination, invitations, RSVPs, and on-site support
  • Oversee webinars and webcasts, coordinating with attorneys, technology staff, and external providers to ensure a seamless experience for presenters and participants
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and professionalism across all event touchpoints
  • Create and manage budgets for all event types, including client events, internal retreats, firm culture events, alumni events, and sponsored programs, while monitoring and tracking the overall events budget
  • Support attorney and staff recruiting events, including callback receptions and summer associate programs
  • Manage invitation campaigns, guest lists, RSVPs, and event materials/SWAG

Marketing & Communications Support

  • Draft and manage invitations, event collateral, and promotional campaigns in collaboration with the communications team
  • Partner with attorneys and marketing colleagues to maximize attendance and engagement through targeted outreach
  • Coordinate with the communications team to highlight events and successes across the firm's website, blog, and social media channels

 Reporting & Measurement

  • Track event metrics, attendance, client engagement, and feedback to evaluate success and inform future planning
  • Manage event budgets, vendor invoices, and expense reconciliation for cost-effectiveness and ROI
  • Provide regular updates and post-event summaries to Marketing Leadership, attorneys, and firm leadership
  • Perform additional duties and tasks assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives

Supervisory Duties:

  • Supervises the Event Coordiantor poistion.
  • Develop and nurture a working environment that prioritizes inclusivity and a client-centric approach. Recognize and encourage strong performance, teamwork, professionalism, and responsiveness.  Instill confidence within the team and among the firm's professionals by celebrating hard work and success.  Set clear and achievable expectations for future success.
  • Effectively organize and oversee the scheduling, workload distribution, and productivity of the team to ensure efficient operations.
  • In collaboration with the department leadership and in accordance with company policy, make informed hiring and selection decisions to build a high-performing team.
  • Deliver timely and constructive performance feedback. Complete performance evaluations to help team members grow and improve.
  • Actively coach, develop, and train team members to ensure they meet and exceed departmental expectations and perform their duties effectively.
  • Review and approve timecards and vacation requests for direct reports, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Efficiently manage daily responsibilities in alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • With the assistance of HR and the department leadership, manage employee discipline and, when necessary, termination in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of end-to-end event execution experience required. Two (2) years of leadership experience preferred.  Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment preferred.
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) preferred
  • Familiarity with CLE accreditation processes preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and possess strong critical thinking and active listening skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation. Ability to manage and meet expectations of a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with business development tools, including CRM systems and event apps.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage and schedule multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems and independently develop solutions to complex assignments.
  • Must be independent, self-motivated, flexible, and creative.
  • Proven fiscal responsibility and adherence to budgets imperative.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound business and professional judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Work Environment:

Schedule:

At this time, this position allows for a hybrid schedule, generally in-office two to three days per week.  Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks.  The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office day requirement.

Compensation:

Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.  A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.  The Colorado salary range is $77,812.27 to $129,687.12 annually.  A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
