About the Position
Join our fast-paced and high-energy development and events team to cultivate relationships with companies, foundations, and individuals who are interested in supporting JA to help the organization meet its annual revenue and volunteer engagement goals. This remote position is based in Northern Colorado along the Front Range reporting to the Regional Development Director and focuses on generating resources to support the organization’s vision to expand student outreach throughout Colorado and Wyoming with a focus on Northern Colorado and Wyoming.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Regional Development Director to develop fundraising goals and strategies to fund efforts to expand student outreach.
- Cultivate holistic, long-term relationships with businesses, foundations, and individuals to generate financial support including program contributions, event participation and sponsorships; identify volunteer sources; and secure in-kind support
- Increase financial support from current supporters and foster new relationships and by conducting one-on-one meetings, facilitating group presentations, writing proposals and reports, as well as implementing appropriate stewardship activities
- Attend and support fundraising events
- Create and execute a plan to coordinate and encourage engagement and support from existing Leadership Councils, while working with the Regional Development Director to identify new council members.
- Collaborate with the program team in Northern Colorado and Wyoming to create program and volunteer recruitment plans that meet educator demand
- Partner with the broader development team to cultivate relationships with companies, foundations, and individuals who are interested in supporting JA
- Work with the communications team to develop collateral to convey funding and sponsorship opportunities, recognize supporters, and leverage public relations opportunities
- Track activities and results through an online sales management platform, as well as provide accurate and timely reports to the Regional Development Director regarding revenue
- Partner with the operations and finance teams to manage expenses, track support, and recognize donors
- Build a strong external network by identifying and engaging in high-value networking opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- Persuasively communicate an authentic passion for JA’s mission with stakeholders and prospects
- Comfortable and skilled in making direct fundraising requests and securing commitments from donors
- Experience cultivating relationships that have generated financial and volunteer support from corporations, foundations, and individuals
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment, meet multiple concurrent deadlines, and organize priorities
- Exceptional verbal communication skills that can be applied in one-on-one situations, small group conversations, and formal presentations to large audiences
- Outstanding professional writing skills that can be applied to daily communications, letters, proposals, and reports
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in the short term and meaningful stewardship in the long-term
- Capacity to travel within Northern Colorado and Wyoming, with occasional travel to JA-Rocky Mountain’s headquarters in Greenwood Village
- Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, sales platforms, databases, and research tools

Compensation and Benefits:
- This is an exempt position with an annual starting salary range of $58,000-$64,000
