About Us:
Vault 44.01 (“Vault”) is a leading carbon capture & storage (“CCS”) developer focused on the development, capitalization, and operation of carbon storage assets throughout North America. Vault’s team brings over 90 years of direct carbon storage experience, with involvement in the development of carbon storage projects across North America since 2007.
Vault’s capabilities span technical analysis, project design, permitting, stakeholder engagement, land leasing and acquisition, facility construction, and operations. In collaboration with our industrial partners, we are currently developing CCS projects in the US Midwest, US Southeast, and Canada, focusing on single CO2 source, near-site sequestration projects and including 7 projects currently under contract.
Vault has secured a US$300 million equity capital commitment from Grey Rock Investment Partners (Dallas, TX based private equity company) and has offices in Denver, CO and Calgary, AB.
Summary

As Manager of Local Government and Community Outreach, you will drive local engagement and act as a relationship lead with county/municipal officials, local governing bodies, chambers, economic development organizations and community leaders. This role will represent Vault in meetings with diverse audiences and will have a deep understanding of the technology and benefits of our projects to local communities. You will work closely with internal and external teams to help negotiate and obtain county and local support for project development, as well as collaborate on local regulatory discussions.
This role will facilitate communication and policy advocacy amongst a diverse set of stakeholders. Job responsibilities include monitoring ordinances, codes, legislation, and working with internal and external teams to create solutions that respond to valid community concerns and appropriately reflect existing state and federal regulatory requirements. Additionally, engagement with state elected officials and coordination of policy between state and local/county entities in executing the overall government affairs and outreach strategy will be essential.
The successful candidate will help execute a broader federal and state government affairs strategy by engaging with team members and building a broad and deep knowledge base of local issues and concerns. Building relationships with community members, landowners, organizations and elected officials, and a knowledge of community values and priorities is critical.
Coordination with Vault’s support at local community events, including representing the company and our contributions to the area will be crucial. Successful candidates will have a proven track record and attuned skill set in building a network with coalition members, associations, and a deep understanding of navigating the political landscape with a solutions-oriented and collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships at the local and county level with a diverse set of stakeholders, including elected officials, staff, community members, associations and others.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory activities at the local, state, and federal levels, and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- Represent Vault at meetings, hearings, and other relevant events to influence policy decisions, articulate benefits to the community, and coordinate alignment on joint interests.
- Collaborate with internal teams to analyze the impact of proposed regulations and legislation on our organization and coordinate appropriate responses and action plans.
- Conduct research and analysis on government policies, initiatives, and trends that may impact our organization.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other materials to effectively communicate our organization's positions and priorities to government officials and other stakeholders.
- Engage in coalition building and partnership development with other organizations and industry groups to amplify our advocacy efforts.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in government affairs to continuously improve our strategies and approaches.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of government processes, legislative and regulatory frameworks, and public policy issues.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field.
- Understanding of agricultural, carbon capture and sequestration, energy management or similar industries.
- Proven track record of successfully advocating for organizational and community interests in local government settings.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting the industry.
- Previous experience working with government officials and policymakers at various levels.
- Strong network and relationships with key stakeholders in the government and advocacy community.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel as needed for meetings, conferences, and other relevant events, including evenings and weekends.

Employment and Wage details:
- Must be able to legally work in the United States of America
- Annual salary range is $190,000 – $230,000
- Potential for annual bonus
