About the Golden Chamber of Commerce:
The mission of the Golden Chamber of Commerce is to enhance and promote the economic environment of the Greater Golden Area through supporting our chamber members, collaborating with businesses, city, county, state and community resources; and putting forth efforts to enhance the quality of life for the community at large. As a member-based organization, our priority is to support our member businesses and provide resources and opportunities as a part of their membership.

The Director of Membership directly supports our mission through membership retention, programming and strategies, and partnership and sponsorship coordination and sales. The Director of Membership should develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship between the Chamber and other business and member organizations and foster a nurturing business environment for members. This position reports directly to the President of the Golden Chamber.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Membership and Member Programs:

  • •Develop membership marketing plan to target new members, expand demographics, increase awareness, enhance involvement and boost revenue for the Chamber
  • •Schedule informational meetings with potential chamber partners and members
  • •Manage annual membership renewal program and meet yearly revenue goals for membership
  • •Manage onboarding and welcoming of new members, including planning new member breakfasts/educational events
  • •Assist Chamber members in taking full advantage of their membership
  • •Oversee and manage Chamber Ambassador program, Leads groups, and Golden Young Professionals program
  • •Coordinate and manage Chamber’s Ribbon Cuttings and member milestone recognition
  • •Oversee and manage chamber membership database
  • •Actively assist with outreach to lapsed members
  • •Provide support and input for the Chamber’s membership and sales strategies including member materials and sales presentations/proposals
  • •Maintain files and records as they pertain to membership and member-related programming; provide membership reports and data as needed
  • •Oversee member surveys, feedback, and testimonials
  • •Assist in preparation of annual membership goals with President/CEO
  • •Lead the coordination of all member programming to include: membership luncheons, meetings, happy hours, annual Business Summit, annual awards, etc. and be in attendance at these events (occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends)
  • •Oversee investor level memberships benefits

Event Sponsorship & Community Engagement:
 

  • •Manage execution of all Chamber sponsorships and meet yearly revenue goals for event sponsorship.
  • •Coordinates with the President and the Events team to ensure sponsorship fulfillment of benefits package details
  • •Attend relevant Chamber functions and other functions and meetings as needed for the purpose of networking and recruiting new members and to represent the Golden Chamber in the community
  • •Maintain LinkedIn account for the Golden Chamber and provide relevant content and connect with members via LinkedIn
  • •Be familiar with the Golden community, know where to find community referral information, and appropriately give Chamber member referrals to visitors and residents
  • •Research and understand Chamber best practices; continuously seek out new and improved approaches for enhancing the Chamber’s membership program
  • •Work across all departments to understand organizational objectives and create strategies to support organizational goals
  • •Attend and assist with Golden Chamber community events such as Golden Farmers Market, Golden Fine Arts Festival, and Olde Golden Holidays
  • •Be an active member of the Chamber staff and be willing to jump in and help as needed with a positive attitude

 
Skills & Qualifications:

  • •Minimum five years related experience working in a professional environment with demonstrated financial and strategic responsibility
  • •Chamber or membership organization/association experience, sales and event planning skills, corporate relations, and/or non profit organization experience is highly preferred
  • •Professional presence, excellent communication and presentation skills, and strong people skills
  • •Flexibility and availability to work some evenings and weekends associated with various chamber events
  • •The ability to perform in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • •Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
  • •Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Canva; and have a strong working knowledge of customer relationship management databases
  • •Must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation
  • •Knowledge of the Golden community is highly preferred

Compensation, Benefits, and Job Details:
This is a 32 hour per week (0.8FTE) salaried position. Salary range is $49,000 – $52,000 annually (based on 0.8 FTE), commensurate with experience. Dental and Vision insurance and health stipend ($150/month) provided after 180 days of successful employment. PTO, Sick/wellness time, and holidays are also provided. 401k available after 90 days of employment. While flexible scheduling and a hybrid office environment are available to support healthy work-life harmony, this position will work primarily in the Golden Chamber of Commerce office, with the option to work remotely up to 30% of the time.
