Kids First Health Care is looking for a relationship-builder, communicator, and strategic thinker who wants to make that happen.
For more than 45 years, Kids First has provided pediatric health care through school-based health centers and community clinics in Adams County. Our goal is simple: help children stay healthy, stay in school, and be ready to learn.
The Senior Manager, Community Engagement & Communications supports the Executive Director in carrying out Kids First’s community engagement, outreach, and communications strategy.
This is an in-person, hands-on role for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating activities, creating communications, and making sure plans turn into action. The role includes periodic weekend and evening work.
You will work closely with schools, community partners, the Community Outreach Associate, and the Executive Director to increase awareness of Kids First and help more families connect with our services.
What You’ll Do Build Community Connections
Build relationships with schools, community partners, and organizations to increase awareness and access to Kids First.
Identify community needs and create opportunities for engagement.
Represent Kids First at schools, community events, health fairs, and other strategic activities.
Lead Outreach
Supervise and coach the Community Outreach Associate.
Set outreach goals, priorities, schedules, and measures of success.
Ensure a consistent Kids First presence in schools and the community.
Evaluate results and adjust strategies to reach more families.
Tell the Kids First Story
Manage the website and social media.
Create and produce engaging communications and marketing materials that promote Kids First services, impact, and brand.
Lead Key Initiatives
Lead the annual Back to Health Breakfast from planning through follow-up.
Support Colorado Gives Day and other fundraising initiatives.
Align communications, outreach, and engagement with organizational priorities

You Might Be Our Person If…
You are energized by people and relationships. You can walk into a school, build trust with a principal, create an engaging presentation, write a compelling story, coordinate an outreach event, and turn ideas into action.
You bring:
3-5 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, communications, marketing, nonprofit work, public relations, or a related field.
Experience working with schools, community organizations, or other external partners.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
Experience with social media, websites, and digital communications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Creativity, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus, not required.
Reliable transportation for school and community activities.
Benefits
What We Offer
$52,000–$65,000 annually for 30 hours per week, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and personal time, employer-supported medical, dental and vision coverage, disability benefits, and retirement benefits.
