Welcome to Montrose! Our thriving community is home to over 41,000 people spanning an area of over 2,200 square miles in the Uncompahgre River and Paradox Valleys. In addition to being the agricultural hub of the Colorado's Western Slope, we are home to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, as well as the Gunnison Gorge National Recreation and Wilderness Areas. The majority of Montrose County is comprised of National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, or National Park lands. Towns and cities within Montrose County include Montrose (population 20,000), Maher, Naturita, Nucla, Olathe, and Paradox.
