As Education and Programs Manager for AIA Colorado, this person is involved in the development, planning and execution of continuing education programs to fulfill AIA membership requirements and address the evolving professional development needs of members from recent graduates to emerging professionals to licensed architects over the span of their careers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing speaker recruitment for AIA Colorado’s annual design conference and other educational programs, administering AIA Continuing Education system (AIA CES) delivery and evaluation requirements; managing AIA Colorado annual awards program and executing other essential program administration functions such as audio visual, site selection and catering. This person is the liaison for tracking, coordinating and disseminating continuing education information and requirements from the AIA national office. This position also serves as the continuing education (CE) liaison to the Colorado State Licensing Board (DORA) regarding state continuing education requirements and issues relevant to licensed professional architects and those on the path to licensure, and is responsible for insuring timely communication to all staff and general membership. The Education and Programs Manager will also work with a high-impact team to guide volunteer and subject matter experts as they create content to address identified knowledge and skill gaps. Experience and understanding of the conditions necessary for successful adult learning in planning professional development offerings is highly desired for this position.
