Up with People (UWP), a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, has been fostering hope and building human connections for over half a century. Known for its high energy musical productions, UWP has provided a powerful and unique experience for more than 22,000 university aged adults to understand the world on a personal level, to develop global leadership skills and to become positive change agents. Those students have inspired millions through music and social action.

Building on this 54 year legacy Up with People is launching a bold new initiative to transform the program and extend the reach of the organization, and ensure even greater impact in the world. This enhanced program will serve greater numbers of youth at younger ages, take Up with People to communities the traveling casts cannot go, and prepare new generations of global citizens.

With the retirement of the current CEO, the Board is launching a search for a new President/CEO to take the reins and guide UWP through this historic phase with fresh perspectives and leadership.

CEO/Executive Director

The Hebrew Educational Alliance (“HEA”), an egalitarian, conservative synagogue in Denver, CO with a rich history of 87 years and home to approximately 900 member families seeks an inspirational leader and seasoned Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) with demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, finance, relationship-building and fundraising. The CEO will have primary responsibility for managing, guiding, integrating and developing the talented professional team at HEA and together with the Rabbis and Board of Directors (“Board”), actualize the HEA’s mission (“Inspiring Lives of Meaning”) and vision. The CEO will embody the core values of the HEA and will build strong relationships with stakeholders, members, donors, and community partners to ensure the long term success, growth and sustainability of the congregation. This leader will ensure optimum utilization of financial and human resources necessary to accomplish the HEA’s mission and vision, and the accountability of HEA to its diverse constituents, all of which is done in alignment, consistent with the values of the HEA.
The CEO has the senior leadership role with respect to strategic planning, membership, financial oversight and professional staff management and development. The CEO has the authority to carry out his/her responsibilities, in accordance with policies established by the Board, including implementation of the recently approved strategic plan. The CEO provides direction and information to the Board to assist it in carrying out its governance functions.
