Description of Work Unit
The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of NCAA Division I (FBS). The University is a current member of the Mountain West Conference and future member of the Pac-12 Conference. The University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, 65 miles north of Denver. Position Summary
The Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast and Video Boards is responsible for leading video board production and broadcasts. Individual is responsible for collaborating with internal and external constituency groups to identify stories; utilizing existing and emerging video technologies; instituting best practices; developing unit workflows; and cultivating fan engagement and affinity through compelling video and digital media content as assigned. Position will lead game-day video production including the in-venue broadcast and streaming.
Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years of previous experience in video production/digital media content (intern, GA, and professional experience applicable)
- Previous experience in NCAA Division I Athletics or similar live production events, including camera crew directing and the use of replays
- Knowledge in the fields of marketing, multimedia, and technology
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency in a variety of software products and video/graphic design programs
- Ability to work on projects individually, as well as within a team
- Ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability and willingness to conduct activities in compliance with NCAA, Mountain West and Colorado State University rules and regulations
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays and travel
- Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
- The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

- Student employee and freelance production supervisory experience
- Multi-sport gameday experience in intercollegiate athletics

- Serve as producer of special events for athletics department and university, when applicable, and assist Stadium Events staff with video board requests

Duty/Responsibility
- Collaborate with the marketing staff, Rams Sports Properties (Learfield, Inc.) and other entities on game-day scripts and presentation of the game-day experience as it relates to the video board and in-game environment
- Plan and produce game-day video roll-ins, highlights and other video pieces during live events
- Call the event while on headset communication with the rest of the production crew and game-day marketing staff
- Effectively use Venus control, live video production equipment and stats integration in the event production
- Execute game-day web streaming for Colorado State Athletics
- Hire and supervise game-day production crew video board production and broadcasts
- Manage the creation of video board, LED display graphics, and animations

- Provide leadership to the Broadcast teams.
- Participate in events involving recruitment of student-athletes when applicable.
- Manage, train and coordinate student employees for various roles within Broadcast and Creative department.
- Coordinate freelance production staff as deemed necessary and coordinate freelance payments with Business Office.
- Ensure compliance with all departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
