POSITION OVERVIEW
The Program Consultant provides Bilingual (English and Spanish) training, coaching, implementation consultation, and Spanish Language resource review for the programs that sit within the Early Learning and Family Education (ELFE) focus area at Invest in Kids. The position supports the professional growth of teachers implementing evidence-based classroom prevention programs and facilitators leading prevention focused caregiver groups in communities across Colorado. Emphasizing high-quality implementation, site health, and sustainability, the role utilizes implementation science principles, adult learning strategies, and expertise in early childhood social-emotional development and community engagement to improve outcomes for children, caregivers, educators and communities.
A core function of this role is to ensure that Spanish-language training, coaching, consultation, and program materials are linguistically accurate, culturally responsive, and aligned with the needs of Spanish-speaking educators, caregivers, families, and community partners. The Program Consultant will serve as a key bilingual resource for the ELFE team, supporting high-quality implementation and continuous improvement of Spanish-language program delivery and resources. This position reports directly to the Director of Early Learning and Family Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Consultation
- Provide strengths-based and reflective consultation support to Implementing Partner Organizations (IPOs) delivering evidence-based, early childhood prevention programs across Colorado
- Manage a caseload of IPOs and hold primary responsibility for communication, coordination and program implementation
- Partner with IPO leadership to identify strengths, barriers and engage in collaborative problem solving to support implementation success
- Guide IPOs in developing implementation goals, action plans, and strategies that strengthen site health, implementation quality and long-term sustainability
Compliance Monitoring of Program Implementation
- Facilitate Local Implementation Team meetings to support site health, sustainability and fidelity of implementation at IPOs and communities
- Utilize data to inform next steps and monitor progress in coaching and work with IPOs and communities
- Coordinate with IPO staff to maintain accurate IPO and implementing staff documentation
- Provide ongoing support to IPOs and staff on data collection activities
Training and Coaching
- Facilitate training using established training protocols and design and facilitate on-going training as needed
- Observe, model, facilitate, and provide strengths based reflective coaching to teachers and facilitators
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
Community Engagement
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, early childhood programs, community organizations and local leaders
- Support new IPO onboarding, implementation readiness and program expansion efforts
- Represent IIK at trainings, conferences, community events, and local and statewide meetings
Organizational
- Review, adapt and provide quality assurance for Spanish-language program materials and resources to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance
- Partner with internal staff and external partners to support the development and continuous improvement of Spanish-language program and implementation resources
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to maintain and strengthen expertise in implementation science principles, early childhood development, evidence-based practices, coaching and adult learning through ongoing professional development, networking and continuous learning.
- Coordinate implementation activities, timelines and communication to support high-quality program delivery
- Participate in data informed decision making and continuous quality improvement
- Support qualitative data efforts for ELFE programs in Spanish
- Engage in IIK’s organizational systems and processes, including contract management, fiscal stewardship and operational practices, to support effective program implementation and organizational health
- Collaborate across IIK departments to cultivate a Whole Child Approach to support IIK’s mission
- Share implementation successes, challenges and lessons learned to strengthen organizational learning and statewide impact.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational needs and objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience facilitating training, coaching, or consultation in Spanish preferred
- Experience reviewing or adapting Spanish-language materials for accuracy and cultural relevance
- Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and experience working with diverse Spanish-speaking communities
- Extensive knowledge, training, and experience coaching adults in a reflective, strengths-based approach
- Extensive knowledge of child development and classroom management, group facilitation, family dynamics, adult learning strategies and of current research and best practices in early childhood education
- The ability to work collaboratively with teammates, teachers, caregivers, administrators and local communities
- Strong commitment to the vision, mission, and goals of Invest in Kids
- Highly organized, team player, self-motivated, multi-tasker, and flexible
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates initiative, tenacity, diligence, and curiosity
Requirements
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish required
- Bilingual Language Assessment: Final applicants for the position are required to successfully complete the organization’s bilingual language proficiency assessment as part of the hiring process. Successful completion of the assessment, with a proficiency score of a 9 or higher, is required for eligibility for the bilingual pay allowance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience providing consultation, coaching, facilitation or implementation support to adults, families, educators, or community organizations.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in early childhood education or related settings.
- Experience facilitating professional learning with adult learners using interactive training strategies.
- Experience partnering with schools, early childhood programs, or community based organizations and/or systems leaders to support program implementation.
- Experience using implementation science, fidelity, or outcome data to guide consultation, coaching and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a Colorado Department of Education Coaching Credential.
- Travel throughout Colorado, including occasional evenings and overnight.
TIME:
- 88.46 FTE (40 hours per week during the active work period August – mid June; annual FTE is prorated to reflect a six-week academic-year break, with compensation paid on a prorated basis over 12 months.)
- Six weeks off mid June-July in conjunction with the organizational need and the workload of the ELFE team
- Two days in the office are required.
SALARY:
- This position receives an annual salary range of $61,137 – $68,779, depending on related experience and education.
- Bilingual Pay Allowance: Eligible employees may receive a bilingual pay allowance of $100 per pay period, subject to successful completion of the organization’s bilingual language proficiency assessment.
