Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Come help build the place where Denver’s doers turn skills and capital into outsized impact. As CEO, you’ll have real autonomy, Board backing, and a committed network to grow a membership community that connects social mission organizations with what they need to thrive: engaged philanthropists, pro bono experts, and catalytic dollars.
You’ll scale a proven model of capacity building and impact investing with individual partners, companies, and funders who give both time and treasure through hands-on projects, cohort-based education, and pooled grants and investments. Over 25 years, SVP Denver has delivered 25,000+ hours of skilled support, driven $26M+ into local initiatives, and supported 300+ organizations.
PRIORITY EXPERIENCE
- Fundraising and Development: You should have significant relationship-building experience and an understanding of the philanthropic landscape in Colorado. You will be responsible for building financial partnerships, implementing earned revenue strategies, writing and reporting on grants, cultivating new partners and retaining existing partners to contribute to the financial sustainability of the organization.
- An Entrepreneurial Spirit: Given that the organization has a handful of staff, you will need to both get your hands dirty (e.g., implement services alongside staff, refine fundraising processes, and troubleshoot challenges), while also helping the organization scale (e.g., delegating effectively, engendering trust in critical conversations, contributing to strategic decisions with the board).
- Strong People and Project Management Skills: You should have strong project management skills (including but not limited to designing and managing to work plans and budgets), as well as people management skills (e.g., making strategic hiring decisions, building team culture, motivating their team, and holding team members accountable for high performance).
