About The Weld Trust (“TWT”)

The Weld Trust’s (TWT) mission is, “To promote excellence in health and education in Weld County.” It is a health conversion foundation whose beginnings came from the sale of North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado in October 2019. TWT exists as a Supporting Organization to the Weld Legacy Foundation (WLF). The two organizations have mirrored Missions and Boards. WLF also does fundraising and funds capacity-building services that benefit health and education causes in Weld County, Colorado. WLF also serves as the fiscal agent for Bright Futures, a workforce development program, initiated by the Weld County Board of County Commissioners to provide financial support to students in Weld County.

About the Position:

As a communications specialist, your role will be to help manage and execute our communication strategy (both internal and external) aligned with the organizations’ goals and enhancing our public image. The person in this position protects the integrity of system branding through good design choices and content creation. The ideal candidate is a talented communicator passionate about crafting compelling messages enabling the
organization to highlight impact, inform, engage, and employ success stories in meeting common objectives. Genuine humility and servant-leadership will be essential qualities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Functions (all items pertain to both The Weld Trust and the Weld Legacy Foundation)

  • · Research, write, edit and distribute communication materials across various platforms, including press releases, impact reports, blogs, social media, infographics and the organizations’ websites
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organizations’ goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with team members to gather information as well as ensure accurate and timely communication
  • Identify compelling stories to increase brand awareness
  • Monitor social media and work alongside staff members to embrace new opportunities, respond to comments and maintain a great public image
  • Create visually appealing and effective external communication materials
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between external marketing company and other staff members
  • Manage internal and external communications that are in line with the organizations’ mission and values
  • Support efforts in graphic design, video and other media
  • Assess internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand image
  • Provide proofreading support for all marketing materials as needed

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of related work experience in general communications, social media, project management, website editing, content creation and planning (experience in the nonprofit/grant making sectors preferred).
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license.

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to condense complex information into concise, digestible formats
  • High level of creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to learn quickly
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a quickly changing environment
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Outstanding time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Photo and video editing skills
  • Graphic design experience
  • Experience with communication analytics and reporting
  • Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving and strong analytical abilities
  • Experience working on a small team with a highly collaborative approach; ability to manage competing priorities at once
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a culture of learning, feedback, coaching and reciprocal support among the team

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel RequirementsNo travel is required for this position.

Work Environment: This position requires employee to work in an office environment daily.
