Description
Deputy Director’s Role within the Organization:
The Deputy Director’s primary role is to work closely with the Executive Director to deliver on the organization’s mission and strategic development, partnering on organizational, administrative, and financial oversight within the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from project management (organizational development, internal systems development, written products) to administration (information systems oversight, office management) and human resources (HR/recruiting, mentoring,professional development). The Deputy Director will supervise and support several staff members on our team of nine employees. The Deputy Director is a full-time, exempt salaried position based in the Grand Junction area.
Responsibilities:
· Work with the Executive Director to oversee the success of the Alliance’s programs and strategic plan.
· Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently.
· Structure and lead teams to deliver outstanding work.
· Partner with Executive Director in essential internal leadership activities (human resources, administration and organizational planning).
· Adhere to the organization’s policies and standards and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
· Identify best practices and improve internal systems with an eye towards future needs and budget realities.
· Work closely with the Executive Director and Finance Administrator to lead the team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive and productive environment.
· Mentoring, coaching, serving as an approachable resource and thought partner.
· Build and maintain strong public relationships with allies and community partners.
Qualifications:
· Commitment to Western Colorado Alliance ’s mission, vision and values.
· Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in non-profit management, with proven supervisory and program management experience.
· Ability to think and work creatively, strategically, efficiently, collegially, and practically.
· Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential.
· Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and bookkeeping principles & nonprofit systems.
· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array or people and from diverse backgrounds.
· Displays a positive attitude, shows concern for people and community, demonstrates presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
· Remains focused under pressure and meets deadlines.
· Can effectively prioritize work while managing multiple projects and can delegate tasks.
· Ability to work independently, think strategically, be organized, and follow through on tasks without prompting.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, ability to physically travel and meet in person with partners, ability to help set up and attend public events and functions. Reasonable accommodation

Benefits
This is a full-time salaried position, ranging from $81,000-$93,898 depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include a group health insurance plan (including dental and vision), a generous paid time off
