PURPOSE
Every day, we prove that the smartest investments are made in children. At Invest in Kids (IIK), we bring research-based, proven programs to communities across Colorado. Our efforts focus on the specific needs of children living in under-resourced communities, with the hope of seeing every child in Colorado thrive. By overseeing data systems, driving continuous quality improvement, and leading equitable evaluation efforts, this position ensures that early childhood programs are implemented effectively and responsively. Through thoughtful analysis and collaboration, the Director helps translate data into action—strengthening outcomes for children and families across Colorado.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is a member of the Program Leadership Team and reports to the Vice President of Programs and Implementation. This position leads the design and execution of data and evaluation priorities that support the IIK Focus Areas* and advance the organization’s commitment to a Whole Child Approach. In alignment with Colorado’s Early Childhood Framework, IIK’s Whole Child Approach considers all aspects of a child’s growth and development and understands how investing in one area of development often benefits others. This position provides leadership around quality improvement, data analysis and collection, implementation science, and equitable evaluation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
-Support and implement a clear vision for program focus and expectations to strengthen and sustain IIK as a healthy, effective organization.
-Foster strong collaboration between Executive and Program Leadership.
-Engage in weekly Program Leadership meetings to center the Whole Child Approach and ensure cross-program and cross-expertise sharing in service to aligned, high- quality, and sustained service delivery.
Financial Responsibilities
-Monitor expenses and demonstrate strong fiscal stewardship.
-Partner with the Philanthropic Partnerships Team to ensure effective collaboration that supports securing funding aligned with data and evaluation priorities.
-Build out and be accountable for contract commitments, data, and metrics for public, private, and government funding awarded to evaluate IIK’s strategies and programs.
-Work with the Community Partnership Team to lead data and evaluation requests that support program expansion, sustainability, and Family Voice efforts.
Data Quality and Evaluation
-Work collaboratively with peer Directors to align data collection, analysis, and reporting across programs, and to interpret findings into actionable strategies that strengthen service delivery in support of the Whole Child Approach.
-Plan, design, and execute culturally responsive and equitable evaluations of programs that are piloted as part of IIK’s Building Rigorous and Equitable Evidence (BREE) Initiative.
-Manage the comprehensive data collection system to monitor fidelity to evidence-based early childhood programs. Lead fidelity monitoring projects and analyze data to ensure it is responsibly returned to communities in accessible and meaningful ways.
-Utilize Implementation Science principles to evaluate need and impact in partner communities.
-Present data-driven insights to highlight emerging trends and opportunities for innovation.
-Lead adherence to data governance and HIPAA standards while cultivating ongoing improvement in data quality and practices.
-Support the continuous improvement of data collection measures, systems and processes to collect program data, establishing and refining data collection systems as needed.
-Participate in data and evaluation webinars and meetings with external partners related to model fidelity and reporting.
-Support with data audits or other external requests for data.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Extensive knowledge and experience with program evaluation, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis, skills in statistical methods using statistical software packages, and experience communicating about research, evaluation results and data with a variety of audiences.
-Ability to prepare complex written reports and deliver oral reports and presentations both internal and external to the organization.
-Self-directed and highly organized, with demonstrated analytical skills, and the ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities and tasks under tight timeframes.
-Ability to lead a strong team, demonstrating skills in supervision, coaching, and visionary leadership.
-A flexible work style and comfortable working both in a team setting and in a self-directed fashion.
-Experience with Institutional Review Board (IRB) procedures.
-Experience with culturally responsive and equitable evaluation.
REQUIREMENTS
-A master’s degree in a behavioral health, program evaluation, research methods, social science statistics or related field.
-Minimum 3 years’ experience in behavioral health, program evaluation, research methods, social science statistics or related areas.
-Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience, preferably including leading and supervising teams and individual contributors.
