Developmental Pathways (DP) has an opportunity for a Director of Human Resources (HR) to join our HR team! The Director of HR will be responsible for the developing and implementing of a forward-thinking, data-driven HR strategy fostering a culture of employee engagement across the organization and in alignment with DP’s strategic priorities and objectives. This role will be a part of the People leadership team, partnering closely with leaders to establish an integrated people strategy and develop tools to promote a high-performing culture. This position will be highly visible, reporting directly to the Vice President of People and will serve as an internal advisor on all areas related to HR, to include but not limited to: Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Payroll, and Employee Relations/Engagement.
 
This is a 40-hour per week, hybrid position, with the benefit of working remotely and in-person coming into our headquarters office in Aurora, CO and/or off-site locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, and/or a certificate in Human Resources; combined experience and education may be substituted for bachelor’s degree requirements
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in human resources with increased responsibility
  • A minimum of six (6) years of managerial, including supervisory experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist or like role
  • Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work as appropriate
  • Valid Colorado motor vehicle license and proof of motor vehicle insurance
  • Ability to meet our driving requirements – no suspensions/ no more than two tickets in the past three years

Upon request, qualifying need, and approval, driving requirements may be waived in lieu of reliable transportation.
 
Preferred

  • A master’s degree in human resources or similar field
  • SPHR/PHR certification

 

Key Responsibilities
 
Vision, Strategy, Program Design

  • Serve as a strategic partner with an ability to flex between strategic and tactical work
  • Development, and execution of scalable solutions designed to serve the needs of the organization
  • Serve as a key internal advisor on legal issues, organizational policies, and personnel matters
  • Anticipate future organizational needs and develop strategic initiatives to meet evolving objectives
  • Analyze HR metrics and KPIs to identify trends, measure performance, and drive continuous improvement; Utilize data analytics to inform HR strategies and decision-making processes
  • Provide actionable insights through data analysis to support talent management, employee engagement, and overall HR effectiveness
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the legal requirements and respond timely, appropriately, and effectively as mandated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD), and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and any other applicable state and federal agencies; consult with outside Counsel as needed
  • Provide the executive team with the necessary information to ensure the organization’s compliance with state, federal, and local laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to personnel matters and/or compensation and benefits
  • Play an active role in organizations’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility initiatives 
  • Develop and manage the HR budget; solicit input from the HR team; make sure team members are aware of budgetary goals and constraints; ensure budget stays within allocated budgetary goals; problem-solve variances with finance

 
Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Payroll, and Human Resource professionals, adapt to changing business needs with optimism, and support their individual growth and success
  • Provide timely and effective feedback and mentorship to direct reports, with a high degree of instilling encouragement and accountability
  • Complete performance evaluations for direct reports, as well as actively identify opportunities for staff development through ongoing supervision and frequent one-on-one meetings
  • Serve as a strategic partner with an ability to flex between strategic and tactical work
  • Leverage the knowledge and experience of subject matter experts allocating resources and staff to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Provide thought leadership in business and project planning, with a focus on optimization
  • Support the entire People team as needed with strategy & project development, analytics, and change/project management
