Events and Communications Coordinator (Part-time, Seasonal) 

Seeking a motivated seasonal team member to assist with events management and communications while supporting a professional association representing more than 700 optometrists in Colorado. Requires outstanding customer service and organizational skills, diligence, ease with multi-tasking, and excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with meeting planning functions related to the annual conference including but not limited to registration, serving as the liaison to the hotel, managing A/V needs, selecting food and beverages for all associated programs, assisting with marketing and promotion, working with exhibitors and managing other events including an awards dinner.  

  • Gather and track information and announcements on continuing education credits. 

  • Fulfill member requests for information, serving as a knowledgeable, valuable, concise resource for events. 

  • Contribute written membership features for association’s newsletter and e-magazine highlighting event. 

  • Assist with social media content creation. Developing engaging text, image and video content. 

  • Monitor social media engagement, respond to comments/messages. Track social media performance metrics (likes, shares, engagement). 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major preferred in marketing, communications, events management, or related field.  

  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience, preferably in marketing, communications, social media, events management, customer service or similar field. 

  • Elevated level of people skills. Ability to build, manage and sustain relationships with internal staff, donors, board members, volunteers, and stakeholders through professional, effective, and timely communication. 

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to author reports and articles, present information and respond to questions from peers, supervisors, volunteers, and the public. 

  • Initiative-taker with a desire to learn and a strong work ethic. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite products, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Hootsuite. Experience with CRM platforms helpful. 

  • Some evening meetings and weekends will be required with event in mountains July 16-19, 2026. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check prior to hiring. 

 

Compensation and Benefits 
This is a part-time (24 hours/week), seasonal position from April 1 – July 31. Hybrid office in downtown Denver close to light rail stop. Hourly range $25-$28.
