In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall objective of providing basic necessities for children, the Grants Director is responsible for implementing A Precious Child’s grants and foundation strategy, building relationships with funders and foundations, supervision of the grants team, prospecting and managing a portfolio of funders and foundations, and researching, preparing, submitting and managing grants along with acknowledgement and reporting.

In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall objective of providing basic necessities for children, the Grants Director is responsible for implementing A Precious Child’s grants and foundation strategy, building relationships with funders and foundations, supervision of the grants team, prospecting and managing a portfolio of funders and foundations, and researching, preparing, submitting and managing grants along with acknowledgement and reporting. The Grants Director will work with the Development Team and the Program Impact team to develop fundraising goals, strategies, and approaches to increase and strengthen fundraising. The Grants Director will also seek out new funding opportunities and cultivate partnerships/relationships with grantors, foundations, and donors. 

Hours: Full-Time, Exempt, weekends and evenings as needed. Hybrid work schedule available with Wednesday in-office required. 

Reports To: Chief Development Officer 

Areas of Responsibility: 

· Develop, implement, and manage the annual grants strategic plan, including the timeline, grants calendar and revenue projections 

· Develop and write competitive grant proposals and reports to private, public, government, state, federal, and corporate funders 

· Main contact with grant-making organizations and foundations during the grant application review process 

· Manage grant tracking, prepare reports for team meetings and provide overall proposal and stewardship support to development team members  

· Manage grant prospecting by actively seeking new sources of private, corporate, government, and foundation support  

· Outreach, engage and solicit invitations to submit proposals 

· Collect and maintain up-to-date research on potential grant-making organizations and grant/contract opportunities, eligibility criteria and deadlines 

· Develop and foster relationships with foundations and organizations that support A Precious Child  

· Meet with, steward, and provide tours to potential and existing funders 

· Maintain hard copies and electronic database tracking systems for proposals, grant/contract awards, deadlines, and reporting requirements 

· Ensure acknowledgment of funders via website, e-newsletter, and social media  

· Assist in developing presentations for various stakeholders 

· Manage the Grants Team and oversee any grant interns  

· Other duties as assigned 

Experience and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent professional experience

· 3-5 years’ experience in grant writing and management of grant portfolios

· Proficiency in CRM or donor relations software is necessary; experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred 

· Experience building internal and external relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders 

· Strong experience with project management and increasing funding through new grants and foundational opportunities 

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 

· Strong written and verbal communication skills 

· Ability to communicate in an effective and timely manner using appropriate communication tools and techniques 

· Ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress toward goals, create and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and results 

· Must be organized and able to manage priorities and deadlines effectively as well as competing demands and handle multiple duties simultaneously

Benefits

Compensation:
$70,000 – $75,000/year with
competitive benefits package including PTO, health, dental and life insurance with a matching 401k option effective after one year of employment.
