About the Position:

The Planned Giving Officer serves as a front line fundraiser to find and maintain donor support through planned giving vehicles such as beneficiary designations, wills, trusts, insurance policies, real estate and other charitable giving methods. This role involves cultivating donor relationships, designing strategic marketing initiatives and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote and grow the Legacy Circle program, a program that recognizes members that make special gifts that perpetuate their giving past a lifetime.   

The new hire is expected to reside in the greater Denver metro area upon starting – this is not a remote position, however a hybrid schedule is available.

About You:

You are a strong relationship builder who uses active listening to identify the best planned giving option for a donor.  You are comfortable having potentially sensitive conversations with both donors and their families.  You are a clear communicator with strong follow up when communicating with legal and financial institutions. You prioritize well, handling multiple projects in an organized and timely manner and have excellent communication skills. You enjoy collaborating with others to help ensure an organization’s financial success. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in planned giving, fundraising, sales, customer success management, or a relatable field. 
  • Relationship building experience with a strong customer focus. This includes experience with managing a portfolio or book of clients. 
  • Proven track record of collaborating across teams and working closely with major gift  officers,  other customer relationship managers, marketing teams, or membership teams on overall donor / customer strategies.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments related to estate and planned giving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize expertly, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple projects..
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management System.
  • While not required, experience with Crescendo or other planned giving platforms is preferred.
  • While not required, capital campaign experience is preferred.

Education Equivalency:

  • A fully relatable bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree may replace some of the required years of experience.

Position Information:

Position Type: Full-time

Hiring Range: Grade 20 – $80,500 – $107,300

Structure Title: Gift Officer, Mid-Level Giving

Starting Pay: based on education and experience.
