A well-established, mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced and visionary President & Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and impact.Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for overall organizational leadership, strategic direction, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and community engagement.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Board and senior leadership team to advance the organization’s mission, strengthen its financial position, and expand its regional impact.

The CEO also serves the organization’s primary ambassador and relationship-builder with donors, community partners, business leaders, and key stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The President & CEO is responsible for ensuring the long-term financial health, sustainability, and growth of the organization through strategic leadership, philanthropic development, and community engagement.  Serving as the organization’s primary ambassador, the CEO cultivates and maintains strong relationships with donors, foundations, corporate partners, community leaders, elected officials, and other key stakeholders to expand and support, increase visibility, and advance the organization’s mission.  The CEO is expected to actively engage in fundraising efforts, steward major donor relationships, identify new revenue opportunities, and foster strategic partnerships that strengthen both financial performance and organizational impact.

Working though through the senior leadership team, the CEO establishes organization priorities, drives execution of strategic initiatives, and ensures alignment between mission, operations, and financial objectives.  The CEO provides guidance, accountability, and support to senior leaders while empowering them to effectively manage their respective areas of responsibility.  Through strong leadership and clear expectations, the CEO promotes a culture of collaboration, innovation, transparency, and results-oriented performance across the organization.

The CEO partners closely with the Board of Directors to advance strategic goals, support governance responsibilities, and ensure sound stewardship of organizational resources.  This includes providing insight on emerging opportunities and challenges, monitoring organizational performance, and positioning the organization to adapt and thrive in a changing environment.  The CEO is ultimately accountable for building organizational capacity, strengthening leadership effectiveness, and creating the conditions necessary for sustainable growth and mission’s success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant executive-level leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex organizations with responsibility for development, operations, people leadership, and financial management.
  • Experience partnering effectively with a Board of Directors or similar governing body.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with donors, community leaders, and strategic partners.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational leadership, and financial management skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and organizational change initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in nonprofit, education, cultural, community-focused, or mission-drive organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, philanthropy, or development leadership.
  • Experience leading organization, growth, transformation, or strategic initiatives.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations or complex program environments.
  • Experience overseeing capital projects, facility development, or major organizational initiatives.
