In the role of Specialist, you’ll partner closely with the Global Communications team to drive engagement and understanding with messages that inspire, instruct and unify our 45,000 employees around the world. This means educating, informing and connecting the dots so our leadership and enterprise functions are working together to develop unified priorities and initiatives and communicating those efforts in clear and consistent ways.
This role works across the global communications team supporting executive communications, global events, learning and talent development as well as ongoing efforts such as fostering our Culture of Caring and health, safety and security priorities. Your success is grounded in your ability to listen, question and consult, make connections, and prioritize so we’re able to roll out initiatives and efforts in a streamlined and organized way. Ultimately, you’ll help translate complex and often sensitive information into crisp, clear written communications coupled with innovative design and delivery.
As a Specialist, Global Communications, you’ll
- Partner with our global communications leaders to deliver strategic communication initiatives, following best practices when it comes to effective storytelling, message frequency, channel selection, metrics, and Jacobs’ brand guidelines
- Develop first-draft content of executive communications, both routine and as needed, including video scripts and town hall presentations
- Support strategic positioning and voice of executive leadership on internal platforms
- Prepare internal talking points, FAQs and briefing materials to align leaders on company priorities and key initiatives
- Research previous initiatives and competitor examples when it comes to current issues and changing global dynamics
- Lead organization efforts for priority initiatives as they arise for executive leaders as well as our company strategy
- Support communications for our newly unified Health, Safety, Security and Enterprise Quality organization
- Create clear, actionable communications around global efforts that enhance our commitment to safety, including BeyondExcellence, BeyondZero and Health and Safety
- Help draft summary communications for individual initiatives around progress, what’s been achieved and what’s still to come
- Track communication and business metrics to identify key learnings, trends, and opportunities for improvement
- Build consensus and exert influence without direct authority

Here's what you'll need
- Established experience in marketing, communications and project management
- A writer who can expertly craft communications in the most simple, clear and straightforward manner
- Proven and successful track record of project-management capabilities, moving projects forward with an eye on what’s next as well as what’s to come
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Knowledge of AP style
- Experience with website/content management, executive communications and change management

The base salary range for this position is $68,900.00 to $120,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
