Job Summary

Oversee company’s business development activities and pursues new business opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Multi-task Position With Emphasis One

  • Develops and builds relationships and networks with key community leaders; including business, government, A&E firms and owner reps.
  • Provides leadership for the growth of the company.
  • Assists with proposal and presentation functions.
  • Applies appropriate criteria to new project opportunities for greatest success.
  • Identifies potential clients and decision makers within the clients’ organization, maintains listings and directories of key contacts.
  • Sets up meeting(s) between client decision maker and Shaw’s Executive Team.
  • Focuses on Shaw target markets for research and lead generation.
  • Monitors newspapers, magazines, public institutions, and other publications of a business nature daily as a lead finding activity and method of tracking market trends/opportunities.
  • Maintains records for all business development activities.
  • Provides coaching and input for presentation development.
  • Provides first client introduction to the company’s capabilities.
  • Seeks out new project leads and opportunities.
  • Event Planning for client meetings.
  • Participates on boards and in company philanthropic activities.
  • Attends association events, conferences and meetings representing the company’s interest.
  • Works with the marketing department on marketing activities on an annual basis.
  • Prepares and manages the Business Development budget.
  • Negotiates with vendors and suppliers for business development activities.
  • Makes decisions regarding promotional purchases.
  • Engages in the company’s Charitable Giving.
  • Stay in tune with industry trends, cycles and events.

  • Participates in marketing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum of 10 years of experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, computer software skills including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Presentation skills required.

Compensation

  • Pay Type: Salary
  • Pay Range: $155,000 to $180,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
  • Other Compensation: Bonus commensurate with individual performance, company performance, and experience.
