Description
Elevation Community Land Trust (ECLT) is a growing, innovative nonprofit with a mission of providing permanently affordable homeownership opportunities to low- and moderate-income families across Colorado. The Vice President of Social Impact & Wealth Equity (SIWE) is responsible for leading a cross-functional team that ensures low- and moderate-income households can successfully access and sustain affordable homeownership. This includes overseeing the full spectrum of the homeownership lifecycle — from initial outreach and buyer pipeline development through post-purchase stewardship — while advancing the organization’s mission of equitable community wealth building.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President of SIWE will lead the department to ensure that low- to moderate-income households have the opportunity to equitably participate in the local community and economy through homeownership. The VP will ensure that all aspects of the home sales process – from initial community engagement through the homebuying process through post-purchase support – align with the mission, values and goals of ECLT. As a member of the leadership team, the VP of SIWE will provide strategic direction in these functional areas, while working to imbue all homeowner, staff, and partner interactions with the organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to position ECLT as a trusted partner in building equitable and inclusive communities. The VP of SIWE reports to the CPO and has three direct reports. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales Goals, Strategy, Process and Systems
- Lead the SIWE team to achieve or exceed annual home sales goals by aligning strategy, process and systems with organizational objectives, proactively identifying and addressing barriers to success.
- Manage the conception, development and implementation of the sales marketing strategy to ensure that ECLT’s ambitious annual sales goals are met.
- Conduct outreach efforts and educate stakeholders, especially large employers, about the benefits of the community land trust model to expand ECLT’s reach to qualified buyers.
- Supervise relationships with realtors, lenders and mortgage programs, and initiate new partnership programs, to support sales goals and ensure homebuyer access to sustainable financing pathways and opportunities.
- Direct the team’s work in buyer preparation including financial literacy, education, application workshops, and navigation through the buying process.
- Ensure that community engagement, homebuyer and homeowner processes lead with an equity lens to broaden access, close racial wealth gaps and support mission aligned goals.
Sales & Stewardship Program Compliance and Risk Management:
- Maintain a deep understanding of land leases, party wall agreements, sales contracts, third-party use and deed restrictions, and condo and HOA management agreements.
- Ensure strong internal coordination to guarantee all compliance, legal and documentation processes are in place for real estate sales transactions.
- Oversee compliance with grant reporting, affordability restrictions and the resale formula; ensure accurate and timely closing documentation review.
- Stay informed on policies, market trends, and outside forces impacting the residential real estate market and homeownership access.
- Troubleshoot novel compliance issues related to homebuyers and homeowners as they arise.
Homebuyer Lifecycle Management:
- With the CPO, craft a vision for the homebuyer and homeowner experience, including developing and implementing a client services strategy that aligns with ECLT’s core values and commitment to equity.
- Using a cycle of continuous improvement, monitor team performance to ensure this vision is executed in each client contact; evaluate opportunities for improvement; implement improvements.
- Provide direction and oversight of the application intake, support, and readiness education processes to ensure buyers are guided through eligibility and application requirements in alignment with ECLT’s core values and customer service strategy.
- Direct and oversee post purchase and stewardship activities and processes to ensure the long-term success of ECLT homeowners, in consultation with ECLT’s homeowner leadership council.
- Conduct homebuyer land lease review meetings.
- Create, promote, and support homeowner association boards of directors through committee and board membership.
People Management & Leadership:
- Supervise a team of three, providing strategic direction, guidance and support to enable direct reports to successfully achieve ambitious organizational and individual goals aligned with ECLT’s strategic priorities.
- Champion and model ECLT’s people management framework, including enthusiastic engagement with organization’s structure and tools so each team member is positioned to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the mission.
- Establish clear expectations, facilitate regular check-ins, and conduct regular performance conversations and formal interim and annual performance evaluations with appropriate documentation.
- Support team members with growth plans and development opportunities.
- Proactively identify opportunities and anticipate and solve roadblocks and challenges to goal achievement, and collaborate with the CPO on systemic, technology and other solutions.
- Align people and systems with organizational objectives, using data driven decision making and continuous improvement.
General:
- Maintain a deep understanding of community issues that impact ECLT’s work, i.e. affordable housing, workforce development, social enterprises, government funding programs, etc.
- Approach ECLT’s externally facing technology and systems with an equity lens, identifying ways to improve accessibility and access for historically underserved populations and positioning ECLT as a trusted partner in building equitable and inclusive communities.
- Ensure strong cross-functional communication and collaboration, and the prompt elevation of challenges, roadblocks and strategic shifts to the wider ECLT Leadership Team.
- As a critical member of the leadership team, participate in organizational strategic planning and goal setting activities and ongoing monitoring of quarterly and annual goals.
- Lead and support board committees as needed.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Formal leadership training preferred
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the nonprofit sector, with 5 of those in the housing sector
- Demonstrated, successful leadership of individuals and teams
- Strong working knowledge of real estate sales contracts
- Proven track record of setting, accomplishing and motivating others to achieve ambitious goals
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- In-depth understanding of the community land trust model
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to represent ECLT with external stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Passion and commitment for affordable housing, homeownership, and ECLT’s mission
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and thought leadership skills; able to manage priorities and workflow; demonstrated ability to work well in a supportive, team-focused environment
- A commitment to maintain strict confidentiality
Requirements
- Must pass a background check
- Must be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a good work ethic
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up 90% of scheduled work hours
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from speaking engagements, community meetings, and other external activities

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
Salary range: $115,000 – $130,000, commensurate with depth of experience and overall qualifications. ECLT also offers a generous benefit package that includes health/dental/vision coverage, life, 401k, and paid time off.
ECLT is based in Denver and offers a flexible, hybrid work environment. The ECLT office is closed on Fridays; all team members have the option to work a four-day week, or a five-day week with a dedicated meeting-free day on Friday.
