About JA-Rocky Mountain
JA-Rocky Mountain is part of the world’s largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. In partnership with schools, businesses, foundations, other non-profits, and individuals this regional operation provides programs to students Kindergarten through 12th grade and young adults up to age 25 in the northern half of Colorado and Wyoming. JA programs are implemented by volunteers and are provided to schools and students at no cost thanks to the generosity of volunteers and donors. Position Description
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Events, this position will coordinate logistics for the following annual fundraising events: JA Golf Invitational, Dinner and Silent Auction, JA Stock Market Challenge, and the Colorado Business Hall of Fame. The Events Specialist will also perform duties that support the development team, and the greater organization that leverage event coordination skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinating various aspects of the events mentioned above, which include event logistics, working with vendors, tracking sales, attendee registration, and
invoicing
• Soliciting, packaging, and promoting silent auction items
• Collaborating with the Sr. Manager of Events, and the development team to develop and promote new sponsorship opportunities to generate additional
revenue
• Conducting research to identify companies, foundations, and/or individuals who may be interested in attending or sponsoring an event
• Researching and updating information about laurate nominees for Colorado Business Hall of Fame
• Collaborating with the communications team to create collateral and promote events through various outlets
• Staffing events
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Possess an authentic passion for JA’s mission
• At least two years related work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize various tasks
• Strong customer service skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, sales platforms, databases, and marketing software (such as Canva)
• Ability to work events throughout Metro Denver and Northern Colorado
• Some nights and weekends required

• This is a non-exempt position with an hourly range of $22-$26.
