Position Title: Content & Communications Specialist                        FLSA Status: Exempt

Wage Range: $65,000 – $85,000 + annual discretionary bonus

Job Summary:
As a Content & Communications Specialist, you are a storyteller at heart—capturing the voices, experiences, and expertise of our team to craft compelling content that informs, engages, and inspires. Whether you're interviewing team members, writing blog posts, developing website copy, or shaping email newsletters, you bring stories to life with clarity and purpose. From proposals to press releases, social media to scripts, you ensure our messaging reflects our values and connects with our audiences. Essential Job Functions:

  • Create compelling internal and external communications content, including email newsletters, blog posts, website copy, social media, and proposals, while developing ideas for future enhancements.
  • Create written content for approximately 50 RFQ/RFP responses annually, including proposals and interview materials
  • Write and edit content for brochures, presentations, digital media, and other marketing collateral to support various company initiatives.
  • Lead proactive and reactive media and community relations efforts by drafting, reviewing, and editing news releases, statements, newsletters, articles, emails, and scripts.
  • Maintain and update the Unanet database with project, client, and internal team information.
  • Support internal company events, such as team-building activities, safety events, jobsite BBQs, quarterly socials, and apprenticeship breakfasts.
  • Manage multiple projects by setting objectives, prioritizing tasks, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring progress, and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop engaging and effective marketing communications strategies and content.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited university in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, or related area; or 5-8 years of applicable work experience
  • Minimum of (5) years of related / similar work experience required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Word and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Experience with WordPress and Social Media outlets preferred
  • Requires advanced communication ability (both writing & speaking), critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask is essential.
