Your vision:

  • You understand Anythink's unique brand and how to develop long-term and short-term brand strategies to meet district needs and further the district's vision.
  • You know how to pair the right message with the medium for optimal impact, building an emotional relationship between Anythink and the audience that keeps them wanting more.
  • You provide creative guidance and project management for brand initiatives, striving for better impact, analyzing performance and providing insights and recommendations for improvements
  • You provide editorial direction to the Brand Strategy team to ensure a consistent voice for Anythink across all visual and marketing communications; pieces written or designed by the department are reviewed by you.
  • You embrace Anythink's mission and values and collaborate with your team to deliver extraordinary communications.
  • You update and implement Anythink's brand guideline to direct strategic communications, public relations, and branding campaigns that increase public awareness and support of Anythink programs, services, and activities to enhance the district's prominence among key audiences.
  • You may serve as Anythink's spokesperson on public relations matters, leading all media relations to ensure accurate and timely coverage of events and news.
  • You are a wizard at identifying and developing relationships with key community stakeholders to include business and industry partners and community leaders to obtain their support for Anythink.
  • You understand how to benchmark trends and how to adjust advertising to ensure optimum engagement and impact for library promotions.
  • You advise your team to procure advertising, using a combination of legacy and new media sources to get Anythink's message in front of our diverse audiences.
  • You extend Anythink's hospitality to the virtual realm through the development and maintenance of Anythink's website, social media networks, and digital marketing.
  • You are an explorer of data, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating qualitative and quantitative metrics that help inform Brand Strategy decisions and tell Anythink's story.
  • You are passionate about Anythink's mission and share your enthusiasm with potential partners and sponsors.
  • You understand that the details are what set us apart in telling our story and reinforcing the brand.
  • You help diversify Anythink's social media strategy, aligning tools and target audiences to meet district goals.
  • You are a sleuth at heart; uncovering and securing potential partners and grants that help bring Anythink's vision to fruition.
  • You are a networking natural, able to develop relationships with VIPs as well as members of the library team and make connections for our Board of Trustees and Anythink Foundation board.
  • You develop and implement crisis communication plans and oversee response strategies to proactively protect and advance the district's reputation.
  • You manage, mentor, and inspire brand strategy and external relations teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • You establish and track key metrics for brand and external relations efforts, providing regular reports and strategic recommendations to the executive team and Board of Trustees.
  • You understand the power of collaboration and have a knack for building relationships with departments and branches to support their communication needs.
  • You are a good teacher, having experience doing the work and the skills to coach someone else on their learning journey.
  • You are a genius at coaching your super-talented team honestly, directly, and consistently to achieve new levels of success.
  • You are thoughtful about recruiting, hiring, and retaining a diverse and brilliant group of employees and volunteers.

Do you have what it takes?

  • You have 7+ years of brand strategy/marketing/communications experience, and at least 3 years managing a team of employees
  • You have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • You have been an integral part of a business, library, or nonprofit organization's success story in diverse communities.
  • You have demonstrated success creating and executing integrated brand, marketing and communications strategies on a national or global scale.
  • You possess outstanding storytelling and creative skills-you are able to distill complex ideas into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-speed environment.
  • You are tech-savvy. You are computer literate, and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, as well as searching and navigating online resources.
  • You have reputation management and crisis communication experience.
  • Your work style demonstrates high emotional intelligence and cultural competency.
  • Spanish speaking candidates desired.
