Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.
Under the supervision of the COO, the VP Operations is responsible for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments within the organizations and ensures operational objectives and results are in accord with overall hospital needs. Additionally, he/she is responsible for integrating the vision of the corporation with internal organizational information, market research and environmental analyses in order to formulate with the COO, a workable, long-term strategic direction for the organization.

Ensures the consistent and effective execution of key systems and processes that make effective use of organizational resources.

Directs the collection and analysis of data for the strategic planning purposes and other plans developed to meet hospital operational initiatives

Responsibility and oversight for the implementation of the operational plan across service lines.

Cultivates relationships with physicians by developing & conducting needs assessment survey—design, letters, operationalize, and implementation of succession planning protocol.

Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
Education: Master’s degree in marketing, business administration or related business field required. Emphasis in healthcare preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in operations, business development, marketing and communications in a health care environment.
Special Qualifications: Requires a high level of technical knowledge in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising. A high degree of analytical ability and strategic thinking required in the development of strategies and plans for the entire Medical Center. Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with all levels within the organization and outside firms and agencies. Ability to lead people and get results through others. Ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span. Marketing and service systems development and deployment. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Strong customer orientation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills. High performance teams and a strong team player.
