About the Office of Admissions
The Office of Admissions, located in the Division of Enrollment and Access, is tasked with enrolling an incoming student body consistent with the mission and vision of access, research, teaching, service and engagement at Colorado State University. Admissions is responsible for coordinating enrollment efforts across the university related to inclusive recruitment and counseling, marketing, application, strategy, and technical support functions for most prospective students. With over 50 full-time staff and an additional 60 student employees, duties range from marketing and communication, prospective student events, application processing and decisions, enrollment strategy, recruitment and outreach, customer service, systems support and data analytics. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions strives to balance its growth in attracting an increasingly diverse and well-prepared student body while remaining true to its land-grant mission and heritage. We employ a holistic, comprehensive review process to select new undergraduates, not only in light of their preparation, but their potential to successfully contribute to the campus and world community.

About the Work Unit
The Recruitment Team consists of the Director of Recruitment, five Assistant Directors – Resident, Non-Resident, Access, Transfer, and Denver Recruitment, and their respective counseling teams who work to assist students in accessing their higher education goals.

Position Summary
As the Assistant Director of Recruitment in Denver, you will be responsible for executing a comprehensive recruitment plan for the Office of Admissions primarily focused on recruiting first year and transfer students from the Denver metropolitan area. This includes recruitment of students to the Fort Collins and Spur campus. You will serve as an engaged leader to a team of professional staff members and model the performance we expect.
This position reports directly to the Director of Recruitment and will also participate in foundational admissions and enrollment management-related activities. This position is ideal for professionals looking to grow in a supervisory role, engage in inclusive business strategy, develop an effective locally based recruitment team, and use previous sales or recruitment experience to manage a territory and develop new markets. This includes the implementation of the CSU Spur Start program. This position will be based at CSU Spur Campus in Denver, CO.
Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, inclusion, respect, service, and social justice
  • Three years of previous admission, college counseling, higher education, or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience giving presentations to groups of various sizes
  • Able to work irregular work hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license or have access to a licensed driver
  • Direct supervisory experience, including staff development and training
  • Experience utilizing data for assessment purposes

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish

  • Plan and execute year-round recruitment travel, representing CSU at events such as high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, one-on-one appointments, information sessions, and other recruitment events.
  • Application of integrity, inclusion, respect, service, and social justice in all parts of recruitment for CSU
  • Participate in application review, event support, delivery of presentations and other foundational admissions and enrollment management-related activities to support the Spur Start program
