Development Coordinator Position Description

Founded in 1980, The Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition’s mission is to build power and support a movement in marginalized communities of families and childcare providers to change systems, build leaders, and train families and providers to be the strongest and best advocates for their children to succeed in school and beyond.

We do this by providing direct training to parents and friends, family, and neighbor childcare providers and parents. Working with educational institutions to support family engagement and creating systemic change through the leadership of our directly impacted community. As a community-driven organization, it is our goal to remain nimble and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve through our programming.

We are seeking a development coordinator eager to learn about fundraising and donor cultivation to work closely with the CEO to successfully raise the revenue necessary to fulfill the mission.

This position will work closely with a report to the Chief Executive Officer in implementing the organizational development plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and track a grants calendar including applications and reports due including outcomes

• Draft grant proposals and reports

• Support the collection of reporting metrics from program teams

• Support the planning and execution of CSPC fundraising events

• Manage donor database

• Work with the communications department to prepare email and mailing campaigns

• Support the Board of directors in thank you and donation request calls

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish

• Have a self starter, eager attitude to learn new skills

• Unafraid to try new things and to make bold asks related to fund development

• Strong research skills to identify corporate and individual potential donors

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong writing and communication skills.

• Entrepreneurial Spirit: Takes initiative and actively seeks to deepen current donor relationships and to forge new ones

• Communications: Skilled in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications for fundraising. Ability to convey complex ideas through brief, simple materials. Experience and credibility when presenting materials to external audiences

• Collaboration: Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectives

• Relationship Building: Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with peers, across different levels of the organization and externally
