What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $58,656/year – $77,719/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include, but are not limited to:

Location

The Mayor’s Office does not operate remotely, and this position is an in-person role. We believe we can listen better, learn more, and act faster when we are able to build strong relationships in the same physical space. With this in mind, we do our work together in-person. We value in-person interactions. In this position you can expect to work on-site, primarily at the Denver City and County Building (1437 Bannock Street) in downtown Denver.

What You’ll Do

The Mayor’s Office is seeking to hire a Business Operations Administrator. This position will serve as a member of the Mayor’s administrative team and will support the Mayor’s Office Chief Projects Officer, Deputy Chief Projects Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer with key day-to-day operations, outreach, and executive-level administrative support.

As a Business Operations Administrator, you will:

  • Serve as a reliable and trusted partner and act as a primary point of contact and gatekeeper for the Projects Team and Chief Strategy Officer.

  • Organize and prepare for meetings attended by the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Projects Officer, and Deputy Chief Projects Officer, including creating agendas, gathering necessary materials, and compiling a daily digital briefing book providing relevant detailed information.

  • Create professional presentations and documents that are typical of an executive office and perform a broad range of administrative tasks for the executive team

  • Serve as a liaison between the Mayor's Office and other officials, community leaders, stakeholders, and both internal and external partners. You may coordinate meetings, attend events, and build relationships to foster effective communication and collaboration

  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare spreadsheets, reports and/or briefing materials on projects and initiatives

  • Oversee executive-level administrative tasks, including management of sensitive information

  • Manage complex calendars, organize official functions, and events

  • Organize both domestic and international travel arrangements

  • Perform additional duties, as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience administering business operations or operational programs and/or assisting professional/management staff with administrative or operational functions.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
