Summary:
Develops, implements, and manages communications plans and projects for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, manages, and coordinates communications initiatives, including publications and multimedia projects, that target specific messages and/or audiences.
  • Develops and updates corporate communication materials, fact sheets, internal electronic and printed media, and crisis communications.
  • Collaborates with a variety of teams to develop relevant, engaging, and effective strategies and content for communications projects. Serves as a consultant on creating, positioning, and delivering internal and external communications.
  • Manages the production of communications materials by internal and external sources. Develops budgets and provides fiscal oversight for projects.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

  • Executive Communication: Ability to build rapport with executives and provide strategic communication advice. Must be able to write letters, newsletters and other long form copy in the voice of various senior leaders. Journalism experience preferred.
  • Internal Communication: Expertise in advising on and managing communications across a large internal staff.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop and maintain a network of relationships across various health care disciplines.
  • Concise Writing: Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and easily-understandable copy, including news, feature articles and emergency communication.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically about communication needs and develop appropriate messaging.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to handle multiple communication projects simultaneously.
  • Crisis Communication: Experience in managing communication during crises or sensitive situations.
  • Digital Communication: Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms to elevate the message to the correct audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze communication effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
