About the Role

The Court Administrator oversees the operations of and plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of Greenwood Village’s Municipal Court. This leadership position oversees a dedicated team of court clerks, works closely with law enforcement, legal professionals, and the public. This position manages legal procedures and ensures compliance with state and local laws. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Court Operations

  • Supervise and assign work to court clerks, conduct training and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement court goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Administer and monitor the court budget; manage procurement and purchasing records.
  • Process and manage warrants, citations, and DMV notifications.
  • Prepare statistical reports and present findings to City Council as needed.
  • Coordinate electronic ticketing systems with law enforcement databases.
  • Certify trial records for appeals and ensure legal compliance.
  • Oversee public records requests and ensure proper redaction under CORA.
  • Manage restitution payments and delinquent case collections.

Jury Management

  • Administer jury selection and software systems.
  • Review and resolve juror excusal requests.

Defendant Coordination

  • Schedule and manage video arraignments with Arapahoe County Jail.
  • Coordinate legal documentation and troubleshoot jail-related issues.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain and recommend upgrades to court software and hardware.
  • Provide backup support to clerk positions and assist with miscellaneous duties.

  • Commitment to public service and ethical standards.

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of four years of administrative experience, including two years in a supervisory role—preferably in a municipal court setting.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with extended periods at a computer.
  • Occasional travel for meetings or training.
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing.
