Summary

Our Data Systems Manager is an integral part of the Denver Health Foundation team and is responsible for the management and administration of the Foundation's constituent database, Raiser's Edge, and the integration and use of DHF other applications systems to ensure support of the business objectives and requirements. This position is responsible for assisting the Foundation team in maximizing its fundraising and donor stewardship effectiveness.

Description

The incumbent will be hands on and responsible for the functionality, procedures, processes, and overall quality of each application. The incumbent will have extensive interface with all functional areas of the Foundation as well as Denver Health Information Technology and existing vendors in order to ensure timely and quality systems. Attend donor events and Denver Health Foundation activities as appropriate and required.

The Data Systems Manager interacts with the Foundation Executive Director and DHHA Senior Management Staff fostering an open and collaborative style of communication and leadership. Assists with development and implementation plans for meeting all software application needs of DHF. Maintains a high level of service on existing systems while anticipating future requirements, trends, and changes to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Systems Integration and Administration
    • Specific focus on systems integration, utilizing integration solutions that are analyzed and recommended from this role, with the intent of streamlining workflows, minimizing staff time on menial tasks, and ensuring a constant flow of data integration.
    • Additional focus on system performance and utilization among DHF staff, including provision of fundraising insights and personalized dashboards.
    • Support the process of reconciliation between donor database and accounting database on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure all company and department specific orientation and competency validation guidelines are followed before start of work assignments.
    • Oversee project work related to systems and applications ensuring that business goals are met, issues are resolved in a timely manner, and standard person-centered project design and management practices are followed.

  • Customer Relations Management (CRM) Administration
    • Create and run complex queries, reports, mailings, and imports/exports to support fundraising and outreach efforts on both a routine and as-needed basis.
    • Manage data import, data extraction, and data quality initiatives; troubleshoot and resolve emergent and existing data and database issues, including database integration issues. (30%)
  • Data Systems Training and Ongoing Support
    • Provide technical support and training to Foundation team to enhance end-user proficiency, including for annual giving, major individual giving, foundation and corporate fundraising, event management, and online engagement specifically with regard to fundraising and Raiser’s Edge data interaction.
    • Assess staff skill requirements for existing and future systems, establish professional development & training plans, and make goals and expectations recommendations for team members.
    • Participate in hiring of new employees and ensure training in systems for new employees.
    • Review provisions for staff development and training.
    • Manage & organize the planning and resourcing for support and maintenance of the Denver Health Foundation software systems. (15%)
  • Quality
    Establish and maintain quality assurance policies, procedures, and documentation, and train colleagues on same. (10%)
  • Project Management
    Assist in the design and implementation of comprehensive strategies and programs, consistent with DHHA objectives, to assess and improve organizational performance. Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive project plans, and report regularly against key milestones. Develop and implement frameworks to evaluate program effectiveness. Conduct comprehensive prospect research, and compile profiles to help inform donor strategy. Project Management Support

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum four years’ experience in a development office environment or non-profit setting, inclusive of experience in prospect and constituent records management, data import/export actions, and developing standard and custom reports required.
  • 1-3 years experience as an integral implementer of Raiser’s Edge and/or other system applications by collaborating with IT partners and project managers required. Proven experience in determining business needs and training staff on appropriate functionality to meet those needs required.
  • 1-3 years proven experience in optimizing a multi-platform/application/system environment, with expertise in Blackbaud, Infor, and Microsoft products, including Power Platform required.
  • 1-3 years experience in synthesizing and disseminating information for audiences, inclusive of designing and producing dashboards and reports required.
  • 1-3 years experience in integrating Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge with outside financial accounting systems required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service to ensure strong collaboration, teamwork, communication at the launch, through the process and at the completion of a task, project or deliverable
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to accuracy and detail to ensure data integrity and quality.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Planner, Project, Forms, Viva Data, Power Platform, etc.) required.
  • Raiser's Edge NXT Certification required; Blackbaud Operational Practices Fundraising Certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology (IT) systems, and systems integration, required.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have experience and passion for building systems integration via AI and other adaptive technologies.
