POSITION OVERVIEW

Invest in Kids (IIK) seeks a Director of Data Quality and Evaluation, a senior leadership role serving on the Program Leadership Team (PLT) and reporting to the Vice President of Programs Strategy and Impact. This position shapes and advances the organization’s data and evaluation strategy, positioning data as a strategic asset to drive decision-making, innovation, and impact.

In partnership with the PLT, the Director leads the design and execution of a forward-looking data and evaluation agenda. This includes oversight of department-wide data systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility, and advancing a culture of continuous quality improvement and equitable evaluation. The Director champions the integration of implementation science and data-driven learning into program operations, strengthening outcomes and scaling impact across Colorado.

This role oversees and supports data collection, analysis, and learning systems, with a focus on translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. The Director plays a critical role in influencing departmental strategy, supporting program innovation, and ensuring data is meaningfully used to improve outcomes for children and families.

The Director brings strong leadership, high emotional intelligence, and a deep commitment to equity. This role requires curiosity, openness to innovation, and exceptional communication skills, along with the ability to bridge technical and programmatic perspectives. Through thoughtful analysis and collaboration, the Director ensures data is not only collected—but actively used to inform decisions and drive measurable impact.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

• Partner with the VP of Programs Strategy and Impact and the PLT to support and advance IIKs focus area vision and strategy, data quality, evaluation, partnerships, in service to long-term impact.

• Contribute to and strengthen the IIK culture by modeling the behaviors and leadership expected of a smart and healthy organization.

• Serve as the subject matter expert to inform and advance data, quality and evaluation efforts.

• Lead the strategic development, oversight, and execution of the Data and Evaluation budget, while collaborating internally to align funding strategies and resources that advance IIK priorities.

• Partner with the Philanthropic Partnerships Team to ensure data requests and needs support the broader organizational funding goals.

 

Data Quality and Evaluation

• Work collaboratively with PLT to align data collection, analysis, and reporting across programs.

• Collaborate with PLT to interpret findings into actionable strategies that strengthen service delivery in alignment with IIK priorities.

• Plan, design, and execute culturally responsive and equitable evaluations of programs that are piloted as part of IIK’s Building Rigorous and Equitable Evidence (BREE) Initiative.

• Design, build, and manage a unified comprehensive data system that defines and measures implementation and enables consistent data-informed decisions to support evidence-based early childhood programs.

• Lead fidelity monitoring projects and analyze data to ensure programmatic lens and ensure data is returned to communities in accessible and meaningful ways.

• Utilize Implementation Science principles to evaluate need and impact of IIK focus areas.

• Collaborate and present data-driven insights to highlight emerging trends and opportunities for innovation.

• Lead adherence to data governance and HIPAA standards while cultivating ongoing improvement in data quality and practices.

• Support the continuous improvement of data collection measures, systems and processes to collect program data, establishing and refining data collection systems as needed.

• Participate in data and evaluation webinars and meetings with external partners related to model fidelity and reporting.

• Support with data audits or other external requests for data.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Extensive knowledge and experience with program evaluation, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis, skills in statistical methods using statistical software packages, and experience communicating about research, evaluation results and data with a variety of audiences.

• Ability to prepare complex written reports and deliver oral reports and presentations both internal and external to the organization.

• Self-directed and highly organized, with demonstrated analytical skills, and the ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities and tasks under tight timeframes.

• Ability to lead a strong team, demonstrating skills in supervision, coaching, and visionary leadership.

• A flexible work style and comfortable working both in a team setting and in a self-directed fashion.

• Experience with Institutional Review Board (IRB) procedures.

• Experience with culturally responsive and equitable evaluation.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• A master’s degree in a behavioral health, program evaluation, research methods, social science statistics or related field.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in behavioral health, program evaluation, research methods, social science statistics or related areas.

• Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience, preferably including leading and supervising

teams and individual contributors.
