The Director of Inclusion and Belonging leads Children’s Hospital Colorado’s efforts to create an environment where all team members feel valued and empowered to learn, grow, and contribute to their fullest. This role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that promote practices across the system that align to our culture, core values, standards of behavior, people operations, workforce priorities, and community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree
  • Area of Study: Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Social Justice, or other related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in DEI, organizational development, or human resources, to include three (3) years of leadership experience.
  • Equivalency: Four (4) years of experience, beyond stated requirements, may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and executes against a comprehensive culture strategy aligned with the system’s mission, vision and values.
  • Monitors and reports on goals, metrics, and outcomes, using data to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Promotes an inclusive organizational culture by identifying and recommending strategies to address systemic barriers for all team members.
  • Influences culture change to support operational objectives. Designs and facilitates training, workshops, and discussions for staff at all levels. 
  • Partners with HR to ensure recruitment, hiring, promotion, training and development, and retention practices align to Children’s Hospital’s values and any applicable legal and compliance requirements.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on matters related to workplace culture, employee engagement, and organizational change. 
  • Supports team member resource groups (TMRGs).
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with community organizations and peer institutions to support shared objectives for outreach and talent pipelines. 
  • Partners with Human Resources leaders on internal policies and practices to ensure alignment with Children’s Hospital’s cultural expectations while adhering to legal and compliance standards and regulations.
  • Serves as a partner and resource to the Quality/Health Disparities team.
  • Participates in leadership activities for the HR division, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives. 
  • Develops and maintains internal processes, identifying and implementing process improvements. 
  • Partners with communications team to communicate updates, opportunities, and progress against the Culture and Team Member Inclusion strategy.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with internal peers, stakeholders, and senior leadership. 
  • Assigns and reviews annual department goals, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops leaders.
  • Evaluates performance, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues. 
  • Carries financial management responsibility for the function, developing budget recommendations and monitoring budget.
  • Works on highly complex or sensitive projects; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
  • Partners with legal and compliance officials to ensure compliance with applicable regulations related to the Culture and Team Member Belonging Strategy. 

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $117,025.91 to $195,043.17
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
