Montessori School of Denver (MSD), located in beautiful Colorado, is seeking a relational and strategic Family Onboarding & Transition Manager to join our dynamic Enrollment Management Team for the 2025-2026 school year. This role plays a critical part in building a seamless, supported student and family experience from the moment a contract is signed through graduation. The position is set to begin in July 2025.
Job Overview: The Family Onboarding & Transition Manager manages the onboarding experience for new families and continues to support current families at key transition points in their MSD journey. The position also provides essential support to the admissions process, helping to ensure a consistent, connected, and mission-aligned experience for all prospective and enrolled families.

About Our School: MSD provides an engaging, empowering, and sound Montessori educational program for students ages 2-14. Our school is accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS), and the American Montessori Society (AMS)[1]. Founded in 1964, MSD is the oldest Montessori school in the Denver metro area. In 2015, MSD completed a comprehensive multi-million-dollar expansion plan to complement its existing facilities. A new Arts and Athletics Center, enhanced outdoor learning and play environments, a new Toddler Village, updated Middle School space, a thriving Urban Farm and one of a kind Vertical Farm, and a state-of-the-art Science and Innovation Tower were added to provide an exceptional, experiential, educational environment for all of our students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in education, admissions, student life, parent engagement, or family-facing program management, ideally in an independent or Montessori school setting.
- Deep respect for Montessori philosophy and an ability to translate its principles for families new to the model.
- Warm, confident communicator who builds trust easily and listens actively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable with data tracking and administrative tools; experience with Blackbaud or similar CRM/database systems preferred.
- Flexible, collaborative, and energized by working as part of a small, mission-aligned team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Family Onboarding & Current Family Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for newly enrolled families from enrollment through the end of the first year to create a seamless support experience.
- Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding plan that includes communications, milestone events, orientation touchpoints, and parent education opportunities.
- Support families through major transitions (e.g., Toddler to Primary, Primary to Elementary, Elementary to Middle School), ensuring a clear and confident understanding of what lies ahead.
- Partner with Education Team, Student Support Team, and the Family Association (FAM) to ensure families feel welcomed, informed, and aligned with MSD's mission and Montessori philosophy.
Retention Strategy & Reenrollment Support
- In collaboration with the Director of Enrollment and Ed Team, create and maintain structures that help families successfully navigate key transition points (e.g., Toddler to Primary, Primary to Lower Elementary, Lower Elementary to Upper Elementary, Upper Elementary to Middle School).
- Work closely with the Director of Enrollment to identify early indicators of attrition risk and respond with individualized outreach and support.
- Maintain data in school’s attrition tracking tools and reenrollment worksheets and provide proactive outreach as a member of the school’s attrition response team.
- Serve as a key point of contact for families navigating questions or hesitations about continuing at MSD, offering clarity, reassurance, and access to helpful resources.
- Encourage timely reenrollment by building strong relationships with families, helping them envision the long-term value of an MSD education.
Admissions Collaboration
- Crosstrain with the Associate Director of Admission to readily lead prospective parent tours and answer admissions FAQs, especially as it relates to the current family experience.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks during peak admissions seasons (e.g., application processing, event preparation, scheduling).
- Facilitate or co-lead parent chats and events with prospective or newly admitted families, offering a relatable, authentic connection to the MSD experience.
Family Association (FAM) Partnership
- Act as a liaison between new and current families and the MSD Family Association (FAM).
- Ensure alignment between family engagement efforts and the broader goals of the enrollment team, fostering a sense of belonging and investment in school life.
Campus Connector & Resource Guide
- Help families navigate the full scope of MSD resources by connecting them to the right people across campus — including student support services, program directors, the business office, and more.
- Maintain detailed records of family interactions and status updates in the school’s database, ensuring smooth collaboration across departments.
- Contribute to cross-functional planning for events, communications, and strategic priorities related to family experience and retention.
- Develop a deep knowledge of MSD’s programs, events, policies, and resources to support responsive, empathetic guidance to parents.
- Maintain accurate records and notes in the school’s enrollment database to ensure seamless handoffs and communication across departments.
Community Engagement
- Attend school events, coffee chats, and admissions tours to remain visible and accessible to families.
- Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment and Director of Marketing and Communications to align messaging and strengthen the family experience throughout the student lifecycle.
- Help evaluate and refine systems and touchpoints that impact the parent experience at MSD.

Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 based on experience and qualifications.
