Position Description
Reporting to the VP of Programs, this position is responsible for the implementation of educator Professional Development (PD) and innovative Career-Connected Learning Experiences. This role plays a vital part in empowering teachers by designing and implementing professional development programs that enhance student learning aligned with JA’s mission. It will also support teachers, volunteers and students in launching the JA Essential Work Skills Credential.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development and Implementation
• Design and manage PD courses for educators in collaboration with university and nonprofit partners.
• Lead pilot and rollout of the JA Essential Work Skills Credential, including teacher recruitment, cohort management, and feedback collection.
• Travel throughout the Denver Metro area to support educators, students, and volunteers. Occasional travel to other parts of Colorado.
• Collaborate with Operations Team on program administration logistics and tasks.
Partnership Management
• Cultivate and manage strategic relationships to enhance PD and career-connected learning opportunities.
• Collaborate on joint PD initiatives with partners.
• Provide excellent customer service to volunteers, educators, and students.
Teacher Engagement and Support
• Develop and execute teacher engagement strategies including incentives, events, and ongoing support.
• Ensure PD offerings align with educator interests and state policy.
Marketing & Brand Building
• Promote JA’s unique value proposition to educational leaders and teachers.
• Represent the organization at select conferences and networking events as needed.
Qualifications:
• Passion for JA’s mission demonstrated by volunteerism and/or previous work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to develop and strengthen relationships with current and prospective stakeholders.
• Strong sales and communication skills (verbal and written) to engage new schools, educators, and volunteers in JA programming
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Outstanding verbal communication skills to inspire teachers and volunteers.
• Goal-oriented, self-motivated and self-directed.
• Experience working with educators, school districts, and external partners.
• Experience in Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability and willingness to travel to schools throughout the assigned region.
• Ability to pass required background check.
• Ability to lead PD programs outside of normal business hours, typically 2-3 Saturdays per year.
• Knowledge of Colorado education policy and financial literacy mandates preferred.

• This is a non-exempt position with a range of $27 to $30 per hour

Work Considerations for Part-Time Employment
• This position aligns to the standard academic calendar, approximately August-May, with reduced hours in the summer
• It is expected that this position will average approximately 30 hours per week during the academic year, and an estimated 10 hours per week during the summer
• During the school year, hours are expected to occur during normal business hours with occasional evenings and 2-3 Saturdays per year.
