Preservation Programs Manager

The Historic Green Mountain Falls Foundation is committed to the enhancement and preservation of the unique qualities of Green Mountain Falls, Cascade, and Chipita Park, CO. The foundation recognizes the importance of conserving historic resources, preservation and conservation, and the value these foundational elements bring to economic development, tourism, and community pride.  This position will be a resource to property owners and the town of Green Mountain Falls promoting awareness about preservation of the built environment and appropriate design. 

This is a new position, it is fulltime, and reports to the Director of the Kirkpatrick Family Fund in Oklahoma City, OK.  This position works in partnership with colleagues associated with the Kirkpatrick management group in Green Mountain Falls which manages the properties and presents, through the Green Box organization, arts programs and an annual arts festival that takes place on the July 4th holiday.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Property Manager to coordinate Green Mountain Falls preservation, conservation, and planning activities with town officials and residents.
  • Lead research and update architectural descriptions, conduct historic property and context research.
  • Develop historic context statements and information to be shared with the community. 
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a website that provides property description files and architectural context for use by the community.
  • Develop and lead preservation and conservation education activities with the residents of Green Mountain Falls.
  • Grant research and writing.
  • Responsible for providing input into the development of the Historic Green Mountain Falls Foundation, LLC budget and monitor program expenditures.
  • Collaborate with the Green Box organization where programs and activities intersect.
  • Support activities connected with the Green Box Arts Festival.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities related to programs and coordinate with Kirkpatrick Family Fund staff in Oklahoma for accounting, HR, and tech support and administrative functions associated with Colorado programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in architecture, architectural engineering, planning or related field.
  • Minimum five years of relevant work, internship and/or experience with community development and planning through preservation and conservation.
  • Effective technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with FileMaker Pro desired and experience with other digital design packages is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully.
  • Proactive with willingness to take on various responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to complete physical requirements of the position including lifting 25-50 lbs., on-site inspections of properties, and comfort with heights.
  • Assume responsibility for key aspects of projects and complete assignments with limited oversight.

The office is in Green Mountain Falls, CO and the hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening and weekends required.   
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and the range is $65,000 to $75,000.   We offer generous health benefits including a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match and 20 days of accrued paid leave in the first year and 10 holidays.
