Job Summary The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder is accepting applications for The Program Manager for Career Readiness and Lifelong Success position! The College of A&S is buzzing with curricular and co-curricular activity that prepares our students for successful and rewarding lives after graduation. To amplify this energy, coordinate and expand existing opportunities, and develop high-impact programs, we are creating a new position within the College. The Program Manager for Career Readiness and Lifelong Success will lead A&S initiatives geared toward making vital connections to benefit undergraduates in the short, medium, and long term. Through coordinating across units to clarify the landscape of current opportunities for enhancing career readiness, launching and leading new programs in this critical arena, and communicating these offerings to all collaborators (students, advisors, faculty, and others), this position will aid students in optimizing the A&S degree and experience. The key goals for this position are to support lifelong success of our students and to help them envision and equip their “future selves.”

Responsibilities What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Coordination and Communication across Programs, Offices, Units, and Teams:
 

  • Communicate and collaborate independently with a wide range of College and University partners to expand student access to Career Readiness programming and opportunities
    • Ensure that Student Success-related Career Readiness programming complements College level and campus level initiatives
    • Coordinate Student Success Career Readiness initiatives in A&S Academic Advising & Coaching, the Honors Program, the Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program, and the A&S Residential Academic Program
    • Develop and maintain a web presence for A&S Career Readiness opportunities and materials
  • Coordinate A&S Faculty Fellows program to partner with academic departments and divisions to craft and generate awareness of Career Readiness opportunities
  • Communicate with Recruitment & Student Resources to educate prospective students and their families about complex Career Readiness initiatives that are integrated into the undergraduate student experience
  • Partner with A&S Academic Advising Center, Communications team, and other College units to develop student centered communication channels to cultivate broader access to experiential learning opportunities

Mentorship Programming

  • Expand student access to meaningful and effective mentorship that strengthens academic success, prepares students for future career paths, and complements existing mentorship programs at CU
  • Work independently to facilitate mentorship opportunities for students with A&S faculty and staff
  • In collaboration with the Office of Community Engagement, campus Career Services, alumni relations, and other relevant units, connect current A&S students to former students and industry partners to facilitate mentorship and networking opportunities
  • Engage a complex network of alumni groups, faculty, staff, employers, and other groups to assist students in building significant mentorship connections

Experiential Learning & Curricular Programming

  • Collaborate with the A&S Curriculum team, academic divisions, and departments to support development of 1-credit Career Readiness courses that correspond with A&S majors
  • Create and maintain a repository of Career Readiness course sample lesson plans and resources
  • Develop and maintain resources for students to explore research and internship opportunities in the College of Arts & Sciences, at the University of Colorado Boulder, and with industry partners
    • Coordinate with A&S Team Student Success units, divisions, and departments to communicate opportunities to students
    • Create and communicate database of majors, minors, and certificates that offer internship opportunities
  • Promote student employment opportunities for A&S undergraduates to gain valuable job experience
  • Coordinate with A&S Team Student Success units, divisions, and departments to strengthen and expand experiential learning opportunities

Other Duties As Assigned

  • Recruit, train, supervise, lead, and mentor student employees in support of the work described above
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Associate Dean for Student Success

What You Should Know This position is required to adhere to the College of Arts & Sciences to work modality expectations for student-facing roles. Currently, this includes the option of a hybrid work schedule that includes a minimum of 2 days per week on campus.

What We Can Offer The annual salary for this full-time position is $62,400 – $72,554.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 3+ years of experience working in a higher education environment
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools for document management and team collaboration
  • Effective independent and team-based work, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational
  • skills for engaging diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical and multitasking skills, with a shown capacity to handle complex assignments

What We Would Like You To Have

  • 5+ years of experience working in a higher education environment
  • Competence in using spreadsheets, databases, and university systems
  • Experience working with CU Boulder College of Arts & Sciences divisions and student support units
