Your Role:

As a Senior Public Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and executing strategic public relations and public affairs programs that build a strong reputation and increase visibility for CSAA IG Insurance and AAA within the markets we serve. This is a high visibility position that will be interacting with media, industry organizations and local officials.

Your Work:

  • Participate in developing compelling, proactive public relations and local government affairs campaigns that generate positive visibility for CSAA IG and AAA.

  • Collaborate with AAA club partners to consult on their public relations goals and needs.

  • Participate in developing and executing strategies to address media, industry and local elected community inquiries and emerging issues.

  • Plan media events and serve as media and company spokesperson as needed.

  • Contribute to the development and advancement of public affairs programs aligned with organizational priorities such as disaster preparedness and CAT response.

  • Build and maintain relationships with AAA National, AAA Club partners, insurance associations, community organizations, and local elected officials to advance the CSAA IG’s business objectives.

  • Serve as liaison with our regulatory and state legislative affairs team, recommending positions on local issues as appropriate.

  • Manage and track measurements for all public relations and public affairs programs.

  • Serve as a key partner with corporate responsibility, product, and other divisions within CSAA IG to create opportunities to promote the brand with external audiences though events, meetings, press releases, digital assets, and other communication channels. Assist in successfully executing on those plans/ideas.

  • Make recommendations on how to best frame and position key issues through strategic communications counsel, and support using targeted communications tactics such as media talking points and communication plans.

  • Assist with crisis communications and reputational risk programs and strategies aimed at protecting the brand in the event of a crisis.

  • Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., supporting employee resource groups, mentoring employees, volunteering, joining cross-functional projects).

  • Champions our cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.).

  • Demonstrates a company ownership mindset, thinking beyond boundaries of their own area.

  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc.

Required Experience, Education and Skills:

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional communications experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or related field.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • Ability to travel on a regular basis, including divisional/team meetings and other in-person meetings or events.

The national average salary range for this position is $122,850.00 – $136,500.00 annual.  However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $110,520.00 – $164,000.00 annual.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.

Colorado Specific Job Range :
$128,970.00 – $143,300.00
