The Position:
The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of projects and/or programs that intend to mitigate the negative impacts of traffic congestion and enhance overall commuter mobility throughout the Denver South region. Reports to the VP of Transportation & Mobility.

Essential Functions:
- Provides day-to-day project/program management assistance and supports the studying, planning, design, and implementation of transportation and mobility focused projects and programs. This includes managing the scope, schedule, and budget, in addition to coordinating between the involved partners and vendors/contractors.
- Assists the VP of Transportation & Mobility in the development of new projects/programs by performing the relevant research and analyses.
- Works with the VP of Transportation & Mobility and the Marketing & Communications department to develop the necessary internal and external communications that will be used to advance a project/program.
- Collaborates closely with relevant staff from the key jurisdictions, RTD, CDOT, DRCOG, and vendors/contractors to ensure projects/programs are advanced from the conceptual phase to the implementation phase.
- Responsible for grant identification/research, writing, administration, & managing project(s) accordingly.
- Works with VP of Transportation & Mobility in the development of metrics and reports that convey relevant progress.
- Represents the organization in relevant committees and participates in local, regional, and state events/conferences, as directed by leadership, to inform Denver South strategies, as well as to communicate Denver South successes to broader audiences.
- Performs other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
- Data collection, management, and analysis skills are strongly preferred.
- GIS data collection & mapping skills preferred.
- Relationship building skills that inspire confidence, trust, collaboration, and respect with stakeholders, partners, and contractors/vendors.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, help design, and coordinate strategic and tactical initiatives efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to communicate persuasively, knowledgeably, effectively, professionally, and tactfully with a variety of audiences.
- Ability to identify, apply for, manage, and administer grants is preferred.

Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience is required.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating multi-faceted projects/programs with the public and private sectors. They will also be experienced in grant procurement and administration. This person will have an interest in or in learning about transportation infrastructure, mobility, innovation, sustainability, broadband, ITS, public works, public planning, engineering, public policy, and/or public administration.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Education:
An associate degree is required.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
- A Valid driver’s license is preferred.
- A driving record (MVR) and criminal history background checks will be required prior to the start of employment.

Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $68,000-$78,000 annually plus eligible for performance bonuses.
Expected Work Week: 40 hours per week.
