Description
The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) is a private nonprofit
organization [501(c)(3)] that coordinates the implementation of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) in collaboration with the four regional education compacts:
– Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC)
– New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE)
– Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)
– Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)
NC-SARA supports the regional education compacts and states as they implement the agreement and carry out their SARA-related work. Additionally, NC-SARA facilitates information exchange among the regional education compacts, member states, territories, the District of Columbia, and SARA institutions regarding participation and compliance.
About the Role:
NC-SARA is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Vice President, Finance and Operations (VPFO) to oversee the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. This executive leader will be critical in managing the annual operating budget and supporting NC-SARA’s mission with strong financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead all aspects of financial administration for an $8.4 million budget to include: budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
– Oversee financial compliance and ensure adherence to applicable regulations and standards.
– Manage payroll processes in collaboration with external partners.
– Collaborate with a human resource consultant and a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) on payroll, staff policies, and employee benefits.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
– A minimum of seven years of accounting and fiscal planning experience.
– A minimum of five years of experience with grant reporting, non-profit accounting, financial statement preparation, and audits.
– Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred.
Benefits
Competitive compensation package $160,000 – $175,000 (annualized salary).
