The Executive Director is the key management leader for the Delta Health (DH) Foundation and will be responsible for overseeing the administration programs, finances, and strategic plan of the Foundation (Organization). Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, grant administration, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Foundation Board of Directors and Hospital CEO.

Position Responsibilities:

Board Governance:

  • Responsible for leading the DH Foundation in a manner that supports and guides the Organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the DH Foundation Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
  • Works with the DH Foundation Board in order to fulfill the Organization’s mission.

Financial Performance and Viability:

  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the DH Foundation, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the Organization.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the Organization in a positive financial position.
  • Responsible for generating monthly and annual financial reports for the Organization.
  • Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support the Organization’s mission.

Organization Mission and Strategy

  • Works with DH Board and Hospital CEO to ensure that the Delta Health mission is fulfilled through Foundation programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Responsible for implementation of DH Foundation’s programs that carry out the Organization’s mission.
  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that the Organization can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
  • Responsible for the enhancement of image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
  • Serves as the Organization’s primary spokesperson to the Organization’s constituents, the media and the general public.

Organization Operations:

  • Responsible for effective administration of DH Foundation operations.
  • Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the Organization.
  • Oversees and implements resources to ensure that the operations of the Organization are appropriate.
  • Establishes policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.
  • Establishes and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the State and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance foundation’s Mission.
  • Reports to and work closely with the DH Foundation’s Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the Foundation throughout the State.
  • Oversees DH Foundation Board and committee meetings.
  • Oversees marketing and other communications efforts.
  • Reviews and approve contracts for services.
  • Develops grant applications and administer grant funds on behalf of the DH Foundation Board and Hospital CEO.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Organization’s Board of Directors.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, finance, marketing or other related field preferred.
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership.
  • Five or more year’s nonprofit management experience preferred.
  • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting.
  • Ability to work with QuickBooks to compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete.
  • Organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Ability to convey a vision of the foundation’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and donors.
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector.
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
  • Strong public speaking ability.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others requiring the ability to communicate.
  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper, requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

 

Work Environment: 

Hybrid position 

Work is normally performed in a typical office environment, but often involves engagements off campus. Travel is required and work hours will vary to include early morning, evening and weekend hours.

Special Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a Colorado Driver’s License.

Since its inception in 2001, more than 300 scholarships have been awarded to students, nurses, doctors, EMTs, medical coders and many more. These scholarships along with equipment and project funding, help Delta Health provide the highest quality of care for years to come.
