Job Summary
As the Web Content Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the world experiences Colorado College online. Reporting to the Web and Digital Experience Director, you’ll oversee the daily management and continuous improvement of the college’s public-facing website and related digital platforms.
In this dynamic role, you’ll lead web content strategy and updates, support campus web authors, and drive enhancement projects that make the site more engaging, accessible, and user-friendly. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in the Office of Communications & Marketing and departments across campus to support digital content needs, enhance the college’s information architecture (IA) and user experience, and ensure consistency with brand and accessibility standards across all digital properties.
Responsibilities
- Manage and implement day-to-day updates to the college’s website and digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, accessibility compliance, and SEO optimization.
- Create content for the web and advise campus colleagues on best practices for web content development.
- Serve as project manager for designated web improvement projects, including site restructures, section redesigns, and content migrations, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications are effectively maintained.
- Manage and implement day-to-day updates to the college’s Fine Arts Center (FAC) website and digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, accessibility compliance, and SEO optimization.
- Provide training, guidance, and troubleshooting support for campus web authors; promote web content best practices, accessibility compliance, and brand alignment.
- Write, edit, and optimize web content across college digital platforms with a focus on clarity, engagement, and SEO; support improvements to site architecture and navigation based on user needs and institutional goals.
- Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on web and digital engagement metrics to inform ongoing improvements and strategy.
- Support the broader initiatives of the Web and Digital Experience team and contribute to the overall goals of the Office of Communications and Marketing.
- Represent Office of Communications & Marketing on College committees and at campus-wide meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in communications, digital marketing, web design, journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing and producing website content, preferably within a CMS environment.
- Demonstrated experience with content writing, editing for web, SEO optimization, and web governance best practices.
- Experience with determining and implementing information architecture improvements and user-centered content strategy development.
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG) and web content optimization for search engines and mobile devices.
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of information architecture, usability, and content organization principles
- Knowledge of web analytics, SEO, and accessibility standards
- Familiarity with web content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools
- Strong writing, editing, and content strategy skills tailored for web audiences
- Excellent project management, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively across departments, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to supporting a diverse, inclusive, and accessible digital environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cascade CMS strongly preferred.
- Experience with Google Tag Manager and/or Google Analytics (GA4).
- Experience in project management for web or digital initiatives.
- Working familiarity with basic HTML/CSS and web publishing workflows.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
- $62,653 to $75,183 per year
