The Manager – Hispanic Community Education & Content plays a key role in developing and supporting the Davis Phinney Foundation’s Spanish-language educational programming and communications. This position focuses on producing high-quality written content, supporting program logistics, and ensuring that Spanish-language educational resources remain accurate, culturally relevant, and aligned with the Foundation’s program strategy.

At the Davis Phinney Foundation, we help people with Parkinson’s live well today. Since 2004, the Foundation has brought to life some of the most important programs and research for those affected by Parkinson’s. Our community includes people living with Parkinson’s, Parkinson’s care partners, families, and friends in addition to physicians and allied health professionals.  

POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

The Manager – Hispanic Community Education & Content plays a key role in developing and supporting the Davis Phinney Foundation’s Spanish-language educational programming and communications. This position focuses on producing high-quality written content, supporting program logistics, and ensuring that Spanish-language educational resources remain accurate, culturally relevant, and aligned with the Foundation’s program strategy. 

Working within the Programs & Community Impact team, this role supports initiatives such as Espacio Parkinson, Foro Parkinson, digital multimedia education, and other Hispanic Community Engagement programs. The position collaborates closely with Marketing, Content, and Community Engagement teams to ensure Spanish-language educational content is effectively shared with the community.  

The ideal candidate is a bilingual communicator with strong writing skills in Spanish and English, cultural proficiency working with Spanish-speaking communities, and familiarity with health education, especially in the area of Parkinson’s. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Spanish-Language Content Development & Writing 

  • Draft blog posts, program summaries, recap articles, and other educational material for Spanish-language audiences. 
  • Translate and culturally adapt selected English-language educational materials for Spanish-speaking audiences. 
  • Draft written content for newsletters, email communications, and other program announcements. 
  • Prepare descriptions, summaries, and supporting text for video content and digital educational resources. 
  • Collaborate on Spanish-language website strategy and create content for webpages, event pages, and more. 
  • Ensure tone, clarity, and cultural relevance of all Spanish-language written materials. 
  • Support editing and proofreading of Spanish-language educational content. 

Educational Program Operations 

  • Provide planning, logistic, and execution support for Spanish-language webinars, meetups, livestreams, and virtual events including the annual Hispanic Leadership Conference. 
  • Coordinate speaker communications and preparation for Spanish-language programming. 
  • Ensure educational programming materials and participant communications are prepared and aligned with the program calendar. 

Multimedia Content Support 

  • Coordinate contractor support for video editing, graphic design, and other multimedia production needs. 
  • Manage Foundation Spanish YouTube channel in alignment with organizational best practices, uploading videos, creating playlists, monitoring performance, and more. 
  • Maintain organized records of multimedia assets and educational content materials. 

Cross-Team Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure Spanish-language educational content is accurately represented in communications and campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with Development on the execution of sponsored content and sponsor benefits related to Hispanic content programs and virtual events. 
  • Contribute to cross-team planning discussions related to Spanish-language education programming. 

Data Tracking & Program Insights 

  • Track participation and engagement metrics related to Spanish-language educational programs. 
  • Compile summary insights and participant feedback from events and communications to support program improvement. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and professional fluency in English (written and verbal). 

· Exceptional writing and editing skills in Spanish. 

· Strong understanding of tone and cultural adaptation for Spanish-speaking audiences. 

· Ability to translate complex health information into clear, accessible language. 

· Strong organizational and project management skills. 

· Experience coordinating virtual events, speakers, or digital programming. 

· Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing and Development. 

· Familiarity with WordPress or digital publishing systems (preferred but not required). 

· Experience working with community engagement programs or health-related education initiatives. 

· Cultural competence and experience working with diverse and international communities. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Health, Education, Spanish Language Studies, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

· 3–5 years of experience in bilingual communications, content writing, or community education programs. 

· Demonstrated experience writing professional content in Spanish. 

· Experience supporting digital programming or educational initiatives. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

· Native Spanish speaker or equivalent cultural fluency. 

· Experience working with Hispanic community organizations. 

· Familiarity with Parkinson’s or other neurological health conditions. 

· Experience working in nonprofit or health education settings. Experience coordinating contractors or multimedia production projects.
