Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking a Copywriter.
About the Position:
The Copywriter creates compelling written content that inspires, engages, and informs our diverse audiences. This role ensures consistency in voice, tone, and storytelling across fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, marketing initiatives, and organizational communications. The Copywriter will play a critical role in helping CPR reach its fundraising goals, strengthen donor relationships, and steward our brand as Colorado’s trusted source for fact-based news, music discovery and cultural connection.
The new hire is expected to reside in the greater Denver metro area upon starting – this is not a remote position. However, a hybrid schedule is available that requires a minimum of 3 days in the office each week.

You’re a strong writer with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, accurate content that aligns with your organization’s brand, voice, and editorial standards. You’re able to manage multiple projects and deadlines while staying adaptable as priorities evolve. Your communication style is clear and collaborative, grounded in active listening and curiosity. You’re open to feedback and bring a growth-oriented mindset to your work. Finally, you have a genuine enthusiasm for mission-driven work and a strong interest in helping CPR grow audiences, strengthen relationships, and engage communities across Colorado.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a copywriter, content writer, or in a related communications role.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences and channels.
- Familiarity with AP Style.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging and accessible language.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills.
- Familiarity with nonprofit, media, or fundraising content, with an understanding of fundraising principles and donor-centered communications.
- While not required, experience with customer relationship management systems (CRMs) and digital / email marketing platforms is preferred.
Education Equivalency:
- A fully relatable bachelor’s or master’s degree may replace some of the required years of experience needed to qualify for the position, but is not required for the role.
