Discover Vail is the marketing brand of the Vail Local Marketing District (VLMD), a Colorado special district funded by a 1.4% marketing and promotions tax collected on lodging in the Town of Vail. The VLMD’s marketing effort is guided by the VLMD Advisory Council (VLMDAC) and is executed by Town of Vail Economic Development staff, working with VLMD contracted partners. The VLMD sits as the Town Council to approve the annual operating plan and budget for the marketing effort.
