Reporting to the Associate Director of Application Services, the Applications and Solutions Engineering Manager, will lead and direct the daily work activities of a team of Application Solutions Engineers. You will be responsible for all administrative and operational aspects of the team including analyzing workflows, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.  

You will deepen your practice as a Leader and utilize MSU Denver’s many leadership development resources and participate in collaborative teams. Engaging with many levels of leadership in a university-wide culture of leadership to help us solve the unique and complex challenges of supporting digital transformation in the higher education industry. 

  • Develop a team of Solutions Engineers and manage their daily work assignments and project participation.  
  • Lead solution and code review meetings to foster peer review and knowledge sharing across your team and with other functional and technical teams. 
  • Lead projects that empower your team to autonomously collaborate on, provide and test solutions through a rapid and flexible CI/CD cycle. 
  • Assist your peers and project managers in designing Agile sprints and epics that align with institutional priorities.  
  • Collaborate with clients and technical peers to design and test technical solutions. 
  • Manage relationships with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Managers, Supervisors, Vendors, and other non-technical teams to solicit cooperation, evaluate technical requirements, and resolve problems.  
  • Use the principles and practices of ITSM, Agile, and Scrum and use those methodologies to lead the team in delivering solutions to support MSU Denver’s Project, Problem, and Release management processes.  
  • Help develop new tools, work patterns, work products and data models, and develop technical business processes to support our evolving architecture and the accelerating change technical service offerings. 
  • You will also assist us with creating the team’s on-boarding and professional development plans and building an engaged team culture. 

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience in a Technology organization 
  • 2 or more years of experience leading a software development, solutions engineering, DevOps team or Software Release Practice 
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating and sustaining partner relationships. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years as a contributor in an Agile or Scrum development team 
  • Experience working in higher education, government, or comparable large-scale non-profit environment. 
  • Experience supporting Ellucian Banner, Workday, or Oracle. 
  • Experience administering a DevOps Lifecycle management application such as Gitlab, Azure DevOps, or other code repository, bug tracking, and/or testing software solutions.

Salary for Announcement

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $72,200 – $96,350.

 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

 

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Work Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, hybrid schedule options available
