We are currently seeking an Art Program Administrator to join our team! This position is part of the Global Communications, Marketing and Customer Experience Division with the City & County of Denver. The Art Program Administrator will work closely with the Manager of Public Art and Exhibitions and Art Program Manager to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality art projects that enhance the airport's customer experience.

Location & Schedule

This position is hybrid with a minimum three days a week required in person at Denver International Airport. Additionally, evening, nights and weekends will be assigned as needed for installation and maintenance projects

We are currently seeking an Art Program Administrator to join our team! This position is part of the Global Communications, Marketing and Customer Experience Division with the City & County of Denver. The Art Program Administrator will work closely with the Manager of Public Art and Exhibitions and Art Program Manager to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality art projects that enhance the airport's customer experience.

The Arts Program Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the curation, installation, and maintenance of exhibitions and rotating displays
  • Assist in the commissioning of Public Art projects
  • Assist with the administration of Public Art maintenance and conservation
  • Develop strategic partnership and proactively identify opportunities that are focused on creating an exceptional art program for our customers to enjoy
  • Assist with the administration of complex public art projects and exhibitions assigned by the Manager while working with key stakeholders including city and airport personnel, community members, design professionals, contractors, and artists
  • Assist with panel meetings for new commission opportunities according to the city's public art policy
  • Contribute to budget tracking and proposals for art programs
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of presentations to internal and external stakeholders as assigned by Manager
  • Host DEN Arts tours for staff, community, and travelers
  • Serve as a steward of the art collections at DE, continually monitor, and coordinate conservation, maintenance and repairs of the public art collection
  • Assist with graphic design and printing preparation for exhibitions and public art projects. Draft text for exhibitions and public art didactics
  • Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Art History, Arts Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience organizing exhibitions from concept through implementation
  • Project management experience including budget tracking, contract development, and working with contracted staff and volunteers
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional or technical level experience planning the administrative aspects of a program(s) or training program participants and/or volunteers. (Some positions may require experience in a specific program area.)
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
