What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $60,064-99,105/year. Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work in the field or on site at Denver International Airport, 8500 Pena Blvd. Denver, CO 80249, 3 days per week. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

At DEN, the Government Affairs & Global Public Policy Division (GAGPP) serves as a trusted Leadership partner and provides holistic subject-matter expertise, coordination and collaboration DEN Enterprise-wide. GAGPP focuses on Multi-Sector Stakeholders and Government Officials to advance DEN’s global strategy and innovation priorities. This includes formulating and communicating on policy matters at all levels (international, federal, state, regional, and local); leading CCD City Council Approval Process; and managing strategic community investments through its Memberships and Sponsorships portfolio and State and Federal consultant lobbying contracts. GAGPP also directly advises the Chief Executive Officer and Executive/Senior Leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities related to DEN’s future growth and strategy.
What You’ll Do
The GAGPP Team is currently hiring for a Compliance & Policy Assistant.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to assist GAGPP with policy research and analysis and perform a variety of administrative, analytical, and operational support duties.
You will be part of a nimble, dynamic, and service-focused team, led by the Senior Vice President (SVP) of GAGPP.
Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

Exercise sound judgment and build strong trustworthy working relationships with GAGPP teammates and across the DEN enterprise to advance the work of the division.

Support GAGPP Leadership and teammates to enhance all aspects of division work, including policy research and analysis; administrative, operations and technology solutions; and fiscal compliance.

Draft myriad communications and advocacy materials, data entry and information management, and assist with stakeholder engagement and periodic site visits as needed.

Apply emotional intelligence when assisting with sensitive stakeholder matters.

Contribute to creative problem solving, strategic vision, thought leadership, and innovation.

Conduct periodic assessments of the effectiveness of Compliance & Policy Assistant duties and opportunities to adapt.

Proactively seek and implement feedback and opportunities for professional development and growth.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

Bachelor’s degree in Government, Economics, International Affairs, Political Science, or a related field.
-
Working within an airport/regulated industry, governmental entity, or other complex organization.
-
Forging trustworthy relationships and executing responsibilities in a professional, customer service-oriented, discrete manner. An understanding of DEN / City & County of Denver stakeholders is a plus.

Ability to anticipate and meet deadlines; support division priorities and initiatives in a variety of formats and technology platforms; and prepare correspondence and strategic engagement materials.

Exceptional comprehension and interpersonal skills, including active listening and strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.

Experience Requirement: None.

Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

License/Certifications: None.
Additional Information
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
